SBI is heading to LA (It's Q&A Time)

Good afternoon folks. I am on the plane and getting ready to leave for Los Angeles. SBI senior writer Dylan Butler will be keeping you all informed on the news of the day while I make my way to California ahead of Sunday's MLS Cup final.

While I'm flying I figured I could post a new Q&A session. You know the drill. Please feel free to ask your soccer (and other) questions in the comments section below and I will be sure to try and answer them in a prompt manner.

Fire away, and for some of you, see you in LA.

Good morning and welcome to the latest installment of Your Questions Answered. It took a long time, but I finally finished off the last Q&A session, from October, and have those remaining answers for you today.

There were some good topics to discuss, such as ranking the Top 10 American goalkeepers, as well as my All-Time Best XI for currently retired U.S. national team players.

Now that these have finally been completed, look out for another Q&A this week. probably on Thursday. I will need to cut down on the number of questions I take because the numbers of questions are keeping me from answer them all in a timely manner.

Now, on to the answers to the rest of your most recent questions:

Your Questions Answered (Part 4 of 5)

Tim_howard_ap

Good afternoon folks. It is time for the latest segment of Your Questions Answered. I was able to finish another portion of the record-setting Q&A session from last month. I'm hoping to have it all done by this week, and with so many long questions and answers in this batch, I figured it would be good to post these now (and yes, this will be now be a six-part series instead of the usual four-part series).

There are a variety of topics, ranging from a question about the world's best goalkeepers (a list that has to include Tim Howard), potential World Cup 2010 players and Eddie Johnson's future.

Here they are. Some more of your questions answered:

Good afternoon folks. It is that time again. I bet you thought you would never see the second half of the most recent Q&A answers. It only took me a month to get back around to them, but I am committed to finishing them off this week and this is the first part of that (i think it's safe to say there will be two more parts instead of one to cover the record-breaking number of questions).

There were plenty of good topics and question in this batch, including questions about Seattle's expansion team, Landon Donovan and a CONCACAF Best XI.

Here they are, some more of your questions answered:

Your Questions Answered (Part 1 of 4)

Victoryposter

Good afternoon all (and Good Morning in the West Coast). It is time for me to start answering questions from the most recent Q&A session. As you may know, I opened questions up to non-soccer topics in pop culture and the result is plenty of movie questions.

Among them were questions about soccer movies (like the all-time classic soccer film, Victory) and movies in general, along with the usual MLS and U.S. national team subjects.

Now, without further delay, here is the first portion of your most recent questions answered:

It's Q&A Time

Good afternoon folks. It is that time again. Time for you to send your soccer questions my way and time for me to try and either give you an answer or give you my opinion on the subject. (Apologies for the lack of posts today. I had to go into Manhattan for some soccer-related business).

You know the drill. Send one or two questions of modest length to me and I will try to answer them by next week (key word being try). Breaking the answers up into segments has helped me finish the Q&A sessions much more quickly so you could see some answers as soon as Friday or Saturday.

Please try to limit your questions to one or two. Also, if you want to ask a pop culture question, be it movies, music or TV, you can ask one as well. No, this isn't turning into Music By Ives, but I figured I could mix things up a bit and see how it works.

Also remember to check out the Q&A archives. Chances are if you aren't a regular reader and you have a question, I may have already answered your question before.

Let's get it started, Send your questions my way.

Here it is, the final portion of the most recent Q&A session. Admit it, you probably thought you wouldn't see it for another month, but here it is.

There are a variety of subjects covered, both MLS related and European soccer related. Among the questions are one about Eddie Johnson and whether he'll ever have a reason to smile in a national team uniform again, as well as one about the future of the right wing position for the national team.

Here they are, the rest of your most recent questions answered (Keep an eye out for the next Q&A, which will be this week):

Your Questions Answered (Part 3 of 4)

Rio_ferdinand_ap

Good morning folks. It is time for the latest portion of the most recent Q&A session. There was a wide variety of questions this time around, including some about the U.S. national team, some about MLS, and the popular "Who are the best players in the world" question. I provide my Top 11 players list in the world, in the EPL and MLS, with Rio Ferdinand earning a place on the first two lists.

Now, without any further delay, here are some more of your questions answered:

Your Questions Answered (Part 2 of 4)

U23celebrates_isi_photos

Good afternoon all. It is time for another section of answers to your most recent questions. There were some popular subjects that kept popping up in this group, including potential young players who could and should get national team looks in upcoming qualifiers (like the four players pictured above), the looming end to the MLS Collective Bargaining Agreement as well as two different mentions of John O'Brien (seriously people, let it go).

Now, here they are, the second of four sections of answers to your most recent Q&A. Enjoy:

Good afternoon everybody. It is time to start answering some of the questions you sent my way recently in the latest Q&A. I will be breaking up the Q&A into four segments, starting with today's.

This batch of questions includes questions about Benny Feilhaber, the U.S. national team, the Seattle Sounders FC coaching search as well as MLS officiating. There were a few questions I couldn't provide answers for yet, but I am working on them.

For now, here are some of your questions answered:

Good morning all. It still took longer than I wanted, but I did manage to finish off the most recent Q&A session. Here is the final quarter of the questions you asked me about three weeks ago. (Even more of) Your Questions Answered

Good evening folks. I was able to work my way through the third of four parts of the most recent SBI Q&A session. There some very good and interesting questions in this batch, including asking for my takes on best American field players ever and best strikers in the world right now. There's a little something for everybody.

I will look to finish off the final quarter of the most recent Q&A session by tomorrow so I can clear the way for a new Q&A session on Thursday or Friday so stay tuned for that.

For now, here are a few more of your questions answered:

(Some more of) Your Questions Answered

Good morning everybody. Here is the second of four parts of the most recent Q&A session.

If you asked question last week, be ready to have them answered either today or tomorrow (that's the plan right now. I might leave the final part for Saturday so some folks can make their way to SBI on the weekend).

Now, without further ado, here are some more of your questions answered.

(Some of) Your Questions Answered

Good morning all. You'll probably think I'm kidding but I was actually able to knock out the first quarter of the most recent Q&A session. I will be posting the answers to the most recent Q&A in four installments and will look to post them all this week. I'm hoping that breaking them up into sections will make it easier to answer them in a timely fashion.

Let's start with the first batch of questions (As always, feel free to share your thoughts on my answers in the comments section below):

It's Q&A Time

Good afternoon folks. It is that time again. Time for you to send your soccer questions my way and time for me to try and either find you an answer or give you my opinion on the subject. It has been nearly two months since the last Q&A so I'm sure there are plenty of new questions you are interesting in asking.

You know the drill. Send one or two questions of modest length to me and I will try to answer them by next week. There have been problems getting the Q&A sessions finished because we surpass 100 questions so be warned ahead of time. If you get one of the first 50 questions in then chances are you'll get your answer sooner, but after 50 it could take me a week or it could take me two weeks. With a long trip back home from Guatemala looming on Thursday, I am going to try and knock out some of the questions for this Friday (yes, I know, you don't believe me. It's okay.)

Also remember to check out the Q&A archives. Chances are if you aren't a regular reader and you have a question, I may have already answered your question before. If you submit a question and I don't answer it then it's because I have answered it before.

Lastly, be sure to check in here tonight for coverage of the World Cup qualifier between the United States and Guatemala. I will be at the game and praying the wireless internet I've been hearing about at the stadium is actually there. If it is, you can rest assured I will give you a detailed account of the match.

Now, back to the Q&A. Let's get it started, Send your questions my way.

(The rest of) Your Questions (Finally) answered

Hello all. I'm coming to you from Guatemala City where tonight's USA vs. Guatemala World Cup qualifier is shaping up to be a good one. With fans here lining up since the morning to get into the stadium for tonight's match, you can expect some of the usual craziness that goes with World Cup qualifiers in Central American.

Apologies for the late start. I'll blame a need for some sleep as well as the two-hour time difference with not posting earlier this morning. I wanted to get the day started with a post I'm sure most of you never thought you'd see. It is the rest of the last Q&A session from late June. Yes, things have been so crazy around here that I wasn't able to get to these questions until now but thankfully only a small few of the questions were time sensitive.

Now, due to a problem with the HTML coding, I wasn't able to post the final few questions. I will try to work out the coding and add those questions to this post. ALL the questions have been answered (though if I forgot to finish an answer somewhere in there just let me know).

Now, FINALLY, here are the rest of your questions answered.

(Some of) Your Questions (Finally) Answered

Admit it, you probably gave up on ever seeing the answers to the last SBI Q&A session. It's okay, I don't blame you.

More than month has passed since readers submitted the last bunch of questions, but after a very busy July, I was able to knock out at least half of the record-setting batch of questions. Thankfully, only a small percentage of the questions were time-sensitive.

I've decided to post these today for those kind souls who visit the site on the weekend. I will attempt to finish and post the second half of the questions by Monday.

Now, without any further delay, here are the first half of your questions (finally) answered (Feel free to share your thoughts on my responses below):
