About 17 months ago, the United States and Slovenia played one of the most dramatic matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. They'll meet for the first time since that matchup in South Africa as part of a packed day of international soccer on Tuesday, one that includes friendlies, World Cup qualifiers and the final day of qualifying for Euro 2012.
The only real drama remaining in the Euro playoff matches involves Portugal and Bosnia & Herzegovina, who played to a scoreless draw in the first leg of their final qualifier. The Republic of Ireland and Croatia have sizeable leads over Estonia and Turkey, respectively, while the Czech Republic holds a two-goal edge of Montenegro.
In terms of friendlies, the Germany-Netherlands one is a can't-miss matchup. Elsewhere, Costa Rica will try and catch Spain at a vulnerable time, with the defending World Cup champions coming off a loss to England and a long trip to Estadio Saprissa. Among the friendlies that are not being televised but are worth stream-hunting for include the high-profile Italy-Uruguay and France-Belgium matches.
