The Montreal Impact continued their preparations for the 2012 MLS season by signing Ft. Lauderdale Strikers midfielder Bryan Arguez.
The former U.S. U-20 international, who had a stint with D.C. United in 2007, helped the Strikers reach the NASL Championship Series this past season. A defensive midfielder by trade, Arguez had explored options in Europe before returning to the United States for a stint with Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Impact, they signed Arguez through the MLS Discovery process.
Here are some other stories to get you through Black Friday:
CASTILLO JOINS TIJUANA
In an effort to find a steady club situation, U.S. men's national team defender Edgar Castillo has become the first reinforcement for Club Tijuana.
The 25-year-old Castillo joins Xolos after making just seven appearances for a Club America team that finished second-to-last in the Apertura season.
The move pairs Castillo with U.S. U-23 winger Joe Corona, who helped Xolos gain promotion to Mexico's top division earlier this year.
ANDERSON SIDELINED UNTIL FEBRUARY
Manchester United will be without Anderson until February after the midfielder sustained a knee injury at the start of the month.
Anderson's knock, which came in a UEFA Champions League win over Otelul Galati, was not expected to be serious. However, the injury is worse than initially feared and Anderson has gone to Portugal to see a specialist. Anderson missed a good chunk of 2010 with a knee injury.
