As the NCAA men's soccer regular season winds down, the game of musical chairs atop the NCAA RPI rankings continues to go on.
Guided by Ethan Finlay and Tyler Polak, the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the Creighton Bluejays are out to a 15-2-0 record and have wrestled the top spot away from Maryland, one of the two teams to have defeated Creighton this season.
Following a loss at Clemson, the Terrapins are down to No. 2, followed by Colonial Athletic Association leaders James Madison. Despite wrapping up an undefeated record in Big East play, No. 5 South Florida is a spot behind conference foe UConn, the former holder of the top RPI spot. The Huskies have slipped up twice in recent weeks after an unbeaten start and cost themselves not only the No. 1 RPI ranking but a bye in the Big East conference tournament as well.
The lone undefeated team in the country, New Mexico, comes in at No. 6, followed by UC Irvine, North Carolina, Boston College and Akron to round out the top 10, respectively.
Do you think the Bluejays are legitimate title contenders? Which team's RPI ranking sticks out for you?
