Chelsea has called Stamford Bridge home since 1905, but it could be looking to secure a new place to play after recent actions by the club's executives.
The club does not own the pitch and stands at the stadium, which are instead have been owned by the Chelsea Pitch Owners since 1993 in an effort to make sure that the grounds wouldn't be bought by property developers, according to the BBC.
The club's chairman and chief executive have submitted bids to the shareholders to buy back what the club doesn't own, which is a necessary step for the team to be able to go forward on potentially seeking a new stadium. The BBC reports that the club would guarantee to not move more than three miles away from the current stadium site if it were to relocate in the next nine years.
Here are a few more stories from around the soccer world:
INIESTA RETURNING TO ACTION
Barcelona will get integral midfielder Andres Iniesta back from injury after he was cleared to play for the first time since tearing his hamstring against AC Milan last month.
While his return helps Barcelona, it won't mean anything for the Spanish national team, which will play without the World Cup-clinching goal scorer in the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Scotland.
RODWELL RED OVERTURNED
Everton has won an appeal to have the red card given to Jack Rodwell in the Toffees' 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday overturned.
Rodwell was given a red card by referee Martin Atkinson after appearing to go through Liverpool's Luis Suarez on a challenge, but replays show that Rodwell made a clean slide tackle on the ball, and his momentum took his back leg into Suarez, who sold the call with an overdramatic reaction.
Rodwell will not have to sit out for the next three matches as a result.
CELTIC CAPTAIN OUT
It has been a season of struggle for Scottish giant Celtic FC, and it's not getting an easier after word that the club's captain, midfielder Scott Brown, will have to miss the next 10 weeks with an ankle injury.
Brown requires surgery that will keep him out through December, and by that point, Celtic could be facing too steep a mountain to climb. The club already trails rival Rangers (and its American trio of Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu and Alejandro Bedoya) by 10 points in the Scottish Premier League table after the opening months of the season.
