If Chris Rolfe is trying to make his way back into the U.S. men's national team picture, he did a good job of helping his cause this weekend.
Rolfe, who has not represented the United States since 2008, scored two goals in a 90-minute performance against Odense BK. Rolfe first converted a penalty kick before hitting the game-winner six minutes from time in Aalborg's 2-1 victory. Rolfe now has three goals on the season.
Rolfe wasn't the only American to find the back of the net this weekend. Herculez Gomez continued his stellar season by grabbing a brace in Estudiantes Tecos' 5-2 win versus Santos Laguna, and Edson Buddle netted FC Ingolstadt 04's lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Alemannia Aachen.
There was more good news in the way of Fabian Johnson returning from his neck injury and starting in TSG Hoffenheim's 1-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach. Johnson played 68 minutes and set up the game-winning goal in his return game before being subbed off.
Another note from this weekend is that German-American forward Terrence Boyd made his first gameday roster of the season for defending Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old Boyd did not see time in the game, but him dressing is promising sign.

- Clint Dempsey started, played 90 minutes and had an ASSIST in Fulham's 3-1 loss vs. Everton on Sunday.
- Brad Friedel started, played 90 minutes and made 4 saves in Tottenham Hotspur's 2-1 win vs. Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
- Brad Guzan dressed but did not play in Aston Villa's 2-1 loss vs. West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
- Eric Lichaj did not dress for Aston Villa. He is recovering from a hip injury.
