This weekend marks the return of some of the top leagues in the world, as the summer break continues to end across Europe.
Teams in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Eredivisie all start their quests for successful seasons, with a number of those teams employing U.S. national team players.
While the English Premier League doesn't start for another week, two of the league's top teams, Manchester United and Manchester City will do battle for the Community Shield on Sunday ahead of a campaign in which both are expected to be near or at the top of the table for the duration of the season.
Plenty of important MLS games are on the schedule as well, including a key Eastern Conference battle between Philadelphia and Houston, an intriguing matchup between Real Salt Lake and New York and a crucial match in the race for the Supporters' Shield between Los Angeles and FC Dallas.
