Clint Dempsey may not have been on the U.S. men's national team's roster for its friendly against Mexico, but his season with Fulham officially got underway on Thursday.
Playing in the third round of the UEFA Europa League, Dempsey helped Fulham advance as the Cottagers knocked off Croatian club RNK Split 2-0. Dempsey started and played 81 minutes in the match.
Josh Gatt was also in action and he netted a game-winning goal for the second straight match. Having scored his first league goal for Molde FK on Saturday, Gatt doubled his total in Molde's 2-1 triumph over IK Start in league play. Gatt found the back of the net with a run from deep that included a nasty, must-see juke on an opponent

ENGLAND
- Clint Dempsey started and played 81 minutes in Fulham's 2-0 win (2-0 win on aggregate) vs. RNK Split.
NETHERLANDS
- Jozy Altidore did not dress in AZ Alkmaar's 1-1 draw (3-1 win on aggregate) vs. Jablonec in the third round of the UEFA Europa League.
DENMARK
- Clarence Goodson started and played 90 minutes in Brondby IF's 4-2 win (4-4 draw on aggregate) vs. Ried in the third round of the UEFA Europa League. Goodson and Brondby eliminated on away goals.
NORWAY
- Josh Gatt started, played 90 minutes and scored a GOAL in Molde FK's 2-1 win vs. IK Start.
- Sean Cunningham did not dress for Molde FK.
