It appears Toronto FC is trying to do everything it can to ensure it has a better second half of the season.
After signing a pair of designated players in Torsten Frings and Danny Koevermans nearly two weeks ago, Toronto FC acquired midfielder Terry Dunfield in a trade with the Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday. To acquire Dunfield, Toronto traded allocation money and future considerations.
In 12 MLS matches this season, Dunfield scored one goal and had three assists for the Whitecaps. He also added a goal in this year's Nutrilite Canadian Championship.

SCHMID EXTENDS SEATTLE STAY TO 2015
Sigi Schmid has signed a contract extension with the Seattle Sounders that will keep him with the club through 2015. The league's all-time winningest coach, Schmid currently has the Sounders in second place of the Western Conference with a 9-4-8 record. The Sounders are currently on an eight-game unbeaten streak.
CHICAGO TO HOST CHIVAS GUADALAJARA IN FRIENDLY
The Chicago Fire has scheduled a friendly against Chivas de Guadalajara on Sept. 14 at Toyota Park. The match will mark the second meeting between the two teams, and the first in Bridgeview, Illinois. The last time they played was back in 2000, when the Mexican club won 1-0 at Soldier Field.
