Michael Farfan was one of the more dangerous attacking players in all of college soccer in his final season at North Carolina, and even though he slipped to the second round in the MLS SuperDraft, he's proving some of his doubters wrong with his play on the professional level.
Farfan turned in a complete performance in the Philadelphia Union's 2-1 victory over the Chicago Fire on Saturday and scored his first career goal in the process. Farfan was the recipient of a pass off a free kick by Kyle Nakazawa and struck a low shot from distance that beat Jon Conway to open the scoring.
Farfan also displayed his versatility, playing three positions -- including fullback -- in the win. He edged out San Jose's Ellis McLoughlin and Houston's Will Bruin for SBI's weekly honors.
What did you think of Farfan's performance? Who was your choice for rookie of the week?
