The international break always leaves us with some intriguing matches, and this weekend's edition is no different.
Whether they're friendlies, European Championship qualifiers or African Cup of Nations qualifiers, there's plenty of action to make up for the lack of European league matches.
Aside from Saturday's United States-Argentina match, here are some of the top international matches on the weekend slate:
FRIDAY
South Korea vs. Honduras, 7 a.m., FIFA.com
Los Catrachos span the globe for this friendly that will act as one of their tune-ups for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Slovenia vs. Italy, 3:45 p.m., ESPN3.com
The top two teams in Group C of the Euro 2012 qualifying round go head-to-head. Neither nation made it past the group stage in the World Cup, but both look like solid bets to move on in this competition.
Spain vs. Czech Republic, 5 p.m, ESPN2/ESPN3.com
It's Spain against its top competitor in Group I, but does it even matter who the competition is? It's Spain. Plus, Xavi will earn his 100th cap with an appearance in this Euro qualifier.
SATURDAY
Wales vs. England, 11 a.m., ESPN2/ESPN3.com
Gareth Bale tries to lead an upset, which is a long shot considering his country has yet to rack up a single point in three previous Euro qualifying matches. John Terry takes back the captain's armband for England.
South Africa vs. Egypt, 12:05 p.m., untelevised
Two of the top teams in Africa square off in a key ACN qualifier at Ellis Park.
Portugal vs. Chile, 4:45 p.m., ESPN Deportes/FIFA.com
Two of the more entertaining, high-pace teams in the world square off in this friendly.
Mexico vs. Paraguay, 5 p.m., Univision/FIFA.com
An opportunity to scout Mexico and get a sneak peak at the United States' opponent next Tuesday. A must-watch for any USMNT fan as a pre-game appetizer before the USA-Argentina match. The game will be played in Oakland, Calif.
SUNDAY
Scotland vs. Brazil, 9 a.m., ESPN2/ESPN3.com
Like is the case with Spain, it typically doesn't matter who Brazil is playing. The Selecao always tend to put on a show.
El Salvador vs. Jamaica, 7 p.m., untelevised
The Reggae Boyz should be among the top challengers at the Gold Cup and boast a roster chock full of MLS talent, including Omar Cummings, Dane Richards, Khari Stephenson, Shavar Thomas and Jermaine Taylor.
