The U.S. national team's scheduled March friendly against Argentina is likely to be held in the same city where the two teams last met.
A source familiar with negotiations told the AP that the March 26 friendly is likely to be played at New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The sides are said to be in the late stages of negotiations, but nothing has been finalized yet.
The Argentina Football Association had initially announced that the match would be played in Seattle, but that was never finalized.
The United States last played Argentina to a 0-0 draw in front of 78,682 fans in a June 2008 friendly at old Giants Stadium in East Rutherford. The Americans debuted at the New Meadowlands last August, losing 2-0 to Brazil.
What do you think of USA-Argentina being played at the New Meadowlands? Happy with the location (assuming it gets finalized)? Think it's too soon considering the U.S. team just played Brazil there last August? Planning on going?
