The U.S. national team won't be the only squad with new American faces in its lineup this weekend.
Several players in the Americans Abroad contingent will be looking to make debuts with their respective new clubs.
Jermaine Jones is one of those players, and he'll look to start for Blackburn when it faces West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. Having not played in a competitive match (for Schalke 04) since November, Jones will hope to put his playing time woes behind him as the Rovers attempt to climb into the upper half of the Premier League table.
Edson Buddle is another player who will be aiming to start this weekend. Buddle has made FC Ingolstadt 04's game-day roster for its Friday fixture against MSV Duisburg, and the World Cup forward is likely to play in some capacity, according to manager Benno Mohlmann.
Several other players will attempt to receive their first minutes, too. Recently promoted to TSV 1860 Munich's first team, U.S. U-20 national team striker Bobby Wood could get a quick first appearance when the club faces VfL Osnabruck. Mike Grella is also in a similar situation, as he could make his debut for Motherwell in its match versus Hibernian.
