We are four days away from the USA-Honduras World Cup qualifier and while the U.S. national team is in first place in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, it won't go in as the favorite in San Pedro Sula.
That is because the Americans are facing a strong Honduras team that just might be the best team in the nation's history. With four starters currently starting in Europe's top four leagues, and several other players who have enjoyed strong qualifying campaigns, Honduras is definitely not going to make things easy for the United States. Not with a World Cup berth within reach with a victory.
Here is my ESPN.com story on the Honduran team, with comments from U.S. coach Bob Bradley and former U.S. national team star Peter Vermes on the strength of the current Honduran side. In short, this is a loaded Honduran team, and if you think Saturday's match will be anything but extremely difficult for the United States then you haven't been paying attention.
What do you think? Is this the strongest Honduran team ever? Think the United States can get a win or tie at San Pedro Sula, where Mexico has lost twice in the past year?
