The Houston Dynamo may have failed in their bid to become the second MLS team to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals but D.C. United still have a glimmer of hope left. After a rough start to the tournament that saw them drop their first two games, three consecutive wins and a draw have turned fortunes around.
After their impressive draw on Tuesday at Toluca -- just the second MLS team to grab a point in Mexico -- United can still progress to the quarterfinals tonight with some help from Group B losers San Juan Jabloteh. Jabloteh hosts Honduran club Marathon in Port of Spain, Trinidad tonight at 8pm.
The match can't be seen on TV in the U.S., but either a Marathon loss or draw would send United through because of the head-to-head tiebreaker. Jabloteh hasn't been dangerous much this tournament, having been outscored 13-2 in their five winless matches to this point. All things are possible this evening.
