Clint Dempsey's lackluster performance against Mexico yesterday didn't affect his standing with his club. It was announced today that he signed a four-year contract extension with Fulham, where he has played since January 2007.
As usual, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it keeps Deuce at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2013. Roy Hodgson was sure to notice the American's contribution to Fulham last season, where he was tied for the team lead in goals with seven on their way to seventh place finish in the league. He'll need to play an even bigger role this season, as Fulham will hope to make their way deep into the Europa league.
What do you think of Dempsey's new deal? Wanted to see him go to a bigger club? Think he'll score more goals this year? Share your thoughts below.
