Nice save from the Bolton GK. Damnit.
Both sides have had chances. The Pool D is a little shaky to me. Don't like that one bit.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:10 AM
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!
Kuyt with a BEAUTIFUL header! Pretty awesome. 28th min.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:16 AM
30th min - Keaned missed a great chance to score an easy goal. He's got 60 mins to redeem himself for that one.
34th - Agger with a wide lefted footed shot. Second missed chance to score from the Dane.
38th - no side is really making an attack. The Pool fans have taken over though.
40th - Pool D has looked much better.
41st - Reina comes waaaaay out of the box. Makes me nervous when GK do that. *cough* louis crayton *cough*
44st - Long throw in for Bolton. Reina handles it cleanly.
45th - Corner for Bolton....ooooh header went in but a foul was called. The ref may want some security around as the first half comes to an end.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:35 AM
Liverpool need to focus and concentrate on defence. Bolton are going to exploit those set pieces. They also need to get another goal for insurance. They cant afford to lose a 1-0 lead. We know what happened when they had a 1-0 against Spurs.
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 08:40 AM
Torres will hopefully come on later. With him, Keane, Kuyt and the Captain G, the Pool will hopefully keep getting points and stay near the top of the table.
Until they crumble I wish more people would give them more credit. Guess it is hard to take them seriously when they haven't won in 18 or so years.
Guess I just like an underdog when I see one. :) :)
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:48 AM
Oh yeah. They really need an insurance goal. I am never comfortable with any team having just a one goal advantage.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:50 AM
46th - Damn a very nice freekick coming already for Bolton. Whew. Liverpool got lucky with that one.
47 - Reina punches a dangerous ball away. Bolton really putting on the pressure now.
48 - Sloppy tackle from Mash. Another nice spotted freekick for Bolton. Save Reina.
50th - Bolton has a mission. Liverpool D needs to step it up. Not good coverage at all.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 08:56 AM
Liverpool need to boss that midfield. Too many sloppy passes. They need to use both flanks and create width.
Sidenote: Lolz. Agger knee'd his tooth out. Jokes. Thats what you call putting your body in harms way.
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 09:01 AM
51st min - Bolton has a chance but misses it. It was a nice run. Where was the D on that one boys?
52 - Looks like Agger knocked out a tooth. Not sure how that happened.
54 - Yes I sight I love. Torres warming up. Captain G hasn't really made an impact to me.
55 - Nice tackle from Sam. Finally cleared it. Geez.
57 - Injured Pool player. Torres looks set to come on.
58 - Keane out. Not sure if I like this move.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:05 AM
Sad to see Keane be subbed off. Probably wouldnt have been subbed if he buried that sitter.
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 09:07 AM
WTFFFFF. TWO SITTERS! CMON LIVERPOOL!!
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 09:08 AM
61st - UGH! Torres gives the Cap a easy goal and he misses! Not cool.
62nd - Freekick B. Ooooohhhh did Reina touch it? Guess not. Goal kick.
64 - B shot deflected. I have an uneasy feeling about this. At this point the Pool aren't even in it.
67th - another corner for B. Headed out by a Bolton player.
69th- Gerrard shot wide. Torres offside. Fans are really into the match now.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:16 AM
71 - Bolton have really stepped it up. Liverpool has got no rhythm right now thanks to them.
72nd - GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!! Torres chip flick to Gerrard and the Cap heads it in!!!! Liverpool rejoice!
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:19 AM
GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!
STEVEN GERRARD!!!! WHAT A HEADER!! BUT WHAT A CROSS FROM TORRES!!
2-0 LIVERPOOL
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 09:19 AM
78 - Good match. Course I can enjoy since Pool is winning.
79th - Torres offside. Bummer would have had an easy goal.
80th - Torres has a good little run but the GK clears it before he can get a shot off.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:26 AM
81st - Xabi with a great shot. Keeper just gets a hand on it.
82nd - Bolton dont have that urgency like they did. Corner B. Reina punches it out of the danger zone. (how corny was that? ha)
83rd - Subs for both sides.
84th- Gardner misses a pretty easy shot. Believe that was he second miss.
86th - Torres with the miss shot. Off the post.
87 - Liverpool fans sing You'll Never Walk Alone. Crazy how I can hear that over the Bolton fans.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:34 AM
CMON WEST BROM!! lol...
Posted by: jbchua | November 15, 2008 at 09:41 AM
88th - Weak corner kick from Gardner. Went straight to a Pool player.
89th - Sub for Pool.
90 - Bolton threatening if you can call it that. Offside called though. 3 mins added.
91 - Corner B. Pool takes it back down gets a corner. Ohhhh Lucas with the miss. What is up with all the damn misses today?
93 - Okay I just saw I think a lion mascot. Didn't realize futbol clubs had them.
Game over. Liverpool gets the win. They had a lot of missed chances. Bolton gave them hell in the second half.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:41 AM
DEMPSEY IS STARTING!!!
Finally....they get it!!!
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 09:47 AM
And in other news....Convey continues not to dress; the goalkeepers are in their usual places; EJ and Demerit both starting;Bradley starting and the Rangers lineups not in yet....
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 09:52 AM
Okay what are the Villans chances against Arse?
Hope it is not a one sided match. Cant wait for the Bayern Munich match. Wouldn't that have been cool to see Lando against MB?
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 09:59 AM
Awesome. I hope Dempsey scores at least 2 goals. :) :)
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:01 AM
SUBOTIC with 2 first half goals so far.
Posted by: Erik Abarca | November 15, 2008 at 10:06 AM
How old is Walcott? He looks 15.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:09 AM
ohhhhh Arse had a chance there in the 14th min. Friedel didn't catch it or clear it well at all.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:19 AM
PENTALY! Villans have their chance. Ah damnit!!!
GK blocked it. Read it well.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:22 AM
Ugh wasted posession. Why kick the ball too far for any one to get to it? Stupid move buddy.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:36 AM
Anyone got a live feed for the Fulham match? The ones I found aren't working.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 10:48 AM
Does anyone know the link for tonight's RB-RSL match?
Posted by: MG Palisades | November 15, 2008 at 10:51 AM
Villa has played very well and has got to be really disappointed not to be up by at least 2 at the half. Sidwell has dominated midfield. Causing all sorts of problems for his former team.
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 10:52 AM
Anyone know why Beas hasn't even made the bench for the last two Ranger's games?
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 10:55 AM
Krista, try SopCast channel 48609 (is working fine).
1-0 Fulham at halftime on a bizarre goal by Davies (maybe should be an own goal on a defender or Gomes).
As for Clint, he made a nice move to create space and unleashed a drive from 30-35 yards that was heading for the top corner but Gomes made a spectacular save. Later, Clint made a nice between the legs move to move inside from the sideline.
Posted by: BFBS | November 15, 2008 at 11:01 AM
Krista, I believe this one is working, I joined it at halftime
http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/sat15.11/Fulham_Tottenham.html
But you need to install SopCast
Posted by: Scott A | November 15, 2008 at 11:02 AM
Wont know the link until later.
Villa has been impressive. They should have a couple goals already.
I have been wondering the same thing about Beas. Hope he's not injured. Did a quick search and found nothing. So I'm not sure why.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Bradley scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coach's son has his stock rising. Impressive!
Posted by: Robert | November 15, 2008 at 11:09 AM
Bradley just scored the tying goal (2-2) for 'Gladbach against Bayern in the 81st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Kris | November 15, 2008 at 11:11 AM
GOAL.... BABY BRADLEY
ties up the game
Posted by: Bob | November 15, 2008 at 11:12 AM
Eddie Johnson wins a header to flick on for a goal for Cardiff City. Cardiff up 2-1 in 2nd half.
Posted by: Mikeype | November 15, 2008 at 11:14 AM
What the hell? I AM SO PISSED. I thought the Bayern match wasnt on until 10:30 CT. Damnit, damnit, damnit. Guess it isn't live on GolTV.
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 11:19 AM
GOAL FOR THE VILLAINS!!!!!
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 11:28 AM
BRADLEY SCORES IN THE 81'TO TIE IT 2-2 FOR GLADBACH!
Posted by: Freddy | November 15, 2008 at 11:29 AM
HeBangedAWhore scores for the villians. Arsenal's defensive centre back aeriel prowess exposed yet again. 1-0 to Villa
Posted by: doug | November 15, 2008 at 11:30 AM
An own goal by Gael Clichy. Off a dangerous cross.
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 11:30 AM
Wow. Well done Mikey. So how did he score it?
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 11:32 AM
Header by Dempsey which is blocked by Woodgate falls for Andy Johnson. Fulham up 2-0. Another American involved in a goal!
Posted by: Mikeype | November 15, 2008 at 11:35 AM
Typical Arsenal, they beat Man United and their kids kill in the CC, then the media starts riding them as a darkhorse title contender, and then they lay an egg against a team out of the top 4 (granted AV is probably the best team outside of the top 4).
Its not over yet with 15 min to go, but they haven't put much forward in this game...
I'm just glad my boys pulled it out against Bolton, should have had at least 5 goals, but I'll take the three points, COME ONE WEST BROM!
Oh and great to hear about Bradley.
Abonglahor WHAT A GOAL!!!!!!
Posted by: Chase | November 15, 2008 at 11:39 AM
Who were the goal scorers in MGB-Munich?
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 11:45 AM
Szetela also started today for Brescia, turning into a great day for the yanks (outside of Subotic turning the knife a bit with those two goals)...
Posted by: Chase | November 15, 2008 at 11:52 AM
Eddie Johnson takes a flick on and goes for goal. He's taken down! Penalty for Cardiff City! Chopra takes it but the penalty is blocked. Cardiff City still up 2-1 late in the 2nd half.
Posted by: Mikeype | November 15, 2008 at 11:55 AM
Dempsey taken off in the 87 minute after a very successful showing. In the end, Fulham picks up all 3 points with a 2-1 win against the Spurs. Huge win for Fulham that takes them to 9th in the Premier League!
Cardiff City holds on to beat Crystal Palace 2-1.
Good showing from both Dempsey and Eddie Johnson today.
Posted by: Mikeype | November 15, 2008 at 11:58 AM
Issac
Both goal scorers for MGB from this side of the pond. Baby Bradley scores the tying goal and Rob Friend, who I think suits up for Canada, scores the first for MGB.
Way to go Mikey B!
Posted by: Citronomics | November 15, 2008 at 11:59 AM
21' Luca Toni
65' Franck Ribéry (pen)
79' Rob Friend
81' Michael Bradley
2-2 final
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Friedel and Hahemann with clean sheets today. Great work!
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 12:01 PM
Ives is gonna have some nice stuff to write about in the next Americans Abroad issue.
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 12:27 PM
Yes. What fun to see Bradley's name on the scoresheet next to Toni and Ribery. You're next, Donovan. If someone streams the rebroadcast, I would so watch that.
Also, Hooray Fulham!

I'm streaming the rebroadcast here, we're in the 61st. http://www.justin.tv/psn_1
Bradley is very very active, had a nice 25 yd swipe at goal and another great tackle and feed to start the break. Awesome to see against Munich, and even better since the big goal is coming.
On a sour note, what's up with Beasley??? He didn't dress for the 2nd straight game.
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 12:50 PM
Thanks for the link danman,
Trademark goal for Bradley, smart run into the box, right place, right time, clinical finish.
Hope his form continues.
Posted by: MemRook | November 15, 2008 at 12:56 PM
thanks for the link... nice finish by Bradley
Posted by: Alticooper | November 15, 2008 at 12:57 PM
Wow. Bradley got abused by Ribery (74th), as in "should be on YouTube" abused.
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 01:03 PM
WHAT A HIT FROM BOSINGWA!!! With his weaker foot. good god European goal of the week.
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 01:07 PM
Thanks for the links. Awesome header by Bradley. :)
Posted by: Krista | November 15, 2008 at 01:10 PM
Rob Friend (79) and Bradley (81) both scored in the second half to come back and tie the game. For Bayern Munich Luca Toni scored on the 21st minute and Ribery scored on a pk on the 65th...
Posted by: bubba | November 15, 2008 at 01:14 PM
Great advertising for the Bundesliga, great crowd and wide open game. I really could see Landon in this game as a change of pace sub for Bayern, that isn't total nationalistic homerism.
Chelsea up 2-0, Anelka gets his 7th goal in his last 4, joining a crazy list of red hot strikers world wide.
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 01:18 PM
Nicky Anelka with 2 goals for the Blues. 3-0 at the half West Brom looked ok when I got there than they got crapped on.
Posted by: Isaac | November 15, 2008 at 01:21 PM
Classy, Toni applauds the Borrusa Park crowd as he walks off, everyone seems to appreciate what a great game that was and a b@llsy comeback by Gladbach.
Clutch by Bradley, who had a pretty active game, but it wasn't all roses, he couldn't touch Ribery and was standing around useless on Toni's goal (created by Lahm). Oh well, that's a pretty good list to get torched by, that's how ya learn.
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 01:24 PM
Chelsea just killing WB. Beautiful goals though!
Posted by: beckster | November 15, 2008 at 01:24 PM
Speaking of on fire strikers, looks like Eto'o just scored for Barca vs Betis
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 01:27 PM
Er, what feed am I on? I don't think Barca-Betis is a game this weekend...
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 01:30 PM
Kuyt has 5 goals for Liverpool, Agbonlahor has 7 goals for AV, Ronaldo has 8 for Man U and Anelka now has 12 for Chelsea. Amazing. Anelka has a strong chance to be top goal scorer this season but so does Agbonlahor. The boy loves to score.
Posted by: MadsMikkelsen | November 15, 2008 at 01:49 PM
Michael Bradley and Rob Friend :D Super North American duo :D
Posted by: MadsMikkelsen | November 15, 2008 at 01:51 PM
Eddie Johnson scored? Holy crap. Miracles can happen. I hope he keeps it going so he can start for Cardiff indefinitely. If he can't start in the PL, Championship is just as great if not say Bundesliga/ Eredivisie.
Posted by: MadsMikkelsen | November 15, 2008 at 01:54 PM
I'm going to watch the ACC soccer final tomorrow, Virginia - Maryland. Anyone know any good prospects to watch for in this match?
We were going to go to the semi's but it was raining. Sounds like we missed an epic 3-2 Virginia upset over #1 Wake Forest.
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 03:42 PM
And no Eddie Johnson goal today. We're celebrating him getting a start...
Posted by: eric | November 15, 2008 at 03:44 PM
If you are neutral tonight, this could help -- Alexi Lalas said he will shotgun a Large Red Bull on the pregame of MLS Cup if New York beats RSL.
