New England Revolution at D.C. United: Your Running Commentary

2008_017New_england_revolution_logo

D.C. United will make what could be its last stand for a playoff berth tonight as it plays host to the New England Revolution in a match it cannot afford to lose.

Can D.C. muster an attack without Marcelo Gallardo and Fred, and with a rusty Luciano Emilio? Will New England be able to finish D.C. off without Steve Ralston, who is out with a broken leg?

If you are watching tonight's match (8pm, ESPN2), please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Enjoy the match.

Well...it hasn't been a banner start for the makeshift team of DC United but then the Revs haven't been able to do much either. DC back line a bit shakey - 3 corners in a row. Shot Emilo....over

These announcers are crap! "No one can tell me that Tom Soehn became a bad coach overnight"; "I'm sure DC would like to become the team they used to be"?

Answer to #1 - Tom Soehn was never a great coach but last year he had healthy great players and #2 - na...DC likes playing like crap with their 2nd and 3rd team players

Shalrie Joseph with pig tails...not particularly intimidating!

Wow, what a save by Crayton on a definitely goal-bound free kick in the 25th minute.

Crayton worth every penny! Fantastic save!

Emilio - that should have been 4! If only he was healthy I gotta believe at least a couple would have gone in!

Ives...I guess all your readers are watching Ugly Betty and just waiting until half time to see Jeff Agos get inducted before they start blogging!

Just got home to find the game at half time. I suppose I'll stick around to watch the 2nd half.

More like the Red Sox playoff game.

Sucks Greg got hurt. Liked what I saw. Lets hope DC can put away one, hopefully more.

Ives- what do you think so far?

early 2nd half chance for the Revs, and a cross sent in was nearly put in for an own goal by Martinez!

Agos, a class act and one of the all time DC United favorites.

STUPID MOVE. This really pisses me off.

Sucks....gonna be hard for DC to emotionally come back from that one

I'm still not happy. But that was a nice goal.

Heart...we have heart!

cmon NE. i got money on u. lets go

Oh Tino...how could you miss?

San your breaking my heart bro.

Wow...fantastic goal and Tino makes up with an assist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HELL YEAH!!! Awesome. Lets keep it goin boys!

Of course...leave it to a former RBNY player to put more pressure on RBNY.

RS, you can't claim Tino...he is DC United...just had a couple of minor diversions....

Hehe like Nicol. He has some bite to him.

Good win for them. Very happy, well besides a couple of mistakes and lost chances. Least they didn't give up after the first goal.

What are you talking about Beckster? Francis Doe was on RBNY last year and scored a couple of goals for us. They cut him earlier this year before the season started. Not so sure you followed that one correctly buddy.
