FC Dallas at Columbus Crew: Your Running Commentary

2008_016_22008_018

The red-hot Hoops of FC Dallas will take their five-match unbeaten streak to Crew Stadium tonight to take on a Columbus team that has struggled in recent weeks (1-2-2 in past five).

Dallas will be looking to keep pressure on Real Salt Lake and Houston at the top of the Western Conference standings while Columbus tries to regain second place in the East, as well as avoid falling into the pack chasing the final playoff spots in the East.

If you will be watching the match, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Looks like a good crowd...but who can tell with the yellow bleachers and blinding sun...

Noonan and Cunningham starting for their new teams.

I just saw streamers on the corner...uh oh...

I hope Cooper scores a hatrick today!

Sikora is everywhere...

Wow Cunny almost had a header on a corner...

Cunningham #100.

Looks like the Hoops are controlling things early.

Halftime and Hoops are in control. Great for Cunningham getting his 100th Goal where he started his MLS career.

How has Noonan played so far?

Noonan not playing well. Robbie Rogers subbed in for him in the 58th min.

Goal Crew. Score 1-1

Crew score again. 62nd and 65th min crew lead 2-1

Hoops fell apart for a 3 min span and there goes the game.

MLSnet is reporting 17k+. It looked like a great crowd, but that seems a little bit inflated to me. I would have guessed around 15k. Either way, its good to see the Crew winning in front of a good crowd.

17k can be a bit sneaky in Crew Stadium b/c of the way the endzone seating works. You can fit almost 3k in the thin strip at the south end above the goal down there. Plus, you rarely see the seats on the bench side of the stadium (where the cameras/press box are located). Most of the season tickets are sold on that side, and it's pretty full in the middle 5 sections there both upper and lower.

Were the guys with the Hooligan t-shirts at the game? lol.

Cooper didn't get many touches on the ball. Gotta get better service to our best player
