That's some great smack talk. You know who I think is stupid? Clawdeeo Rayner, Dayf Vendinbarg, and Jean Khan Wei. Come on, Olsen's only been in the league for like 19 years. There's an E for Effort!

I don't know why they didn't get Blanco to do the Dick's commercial, he shows off his acting chops every weekend. Of course, they'd have to film the ad in a penalty box...

I understand the happiness from DC fans, but . . . I mean, good job by DC to take care of business, but that Red Bull starting lineup was just a bunch of MLS role players. The game was SUPPOSED to be ugly for NY.

Andrew, your write up is classic.

Dawson Olsen!

So because you could not talk about the game because of the result, you instead criticized the acting of DC's injured player, Ben Olsen. Thanks for the insightful analysis Andrew.

BB17 what was there to talk about from the RBNY persepctive. It was an utter blowout not seen since the days of Franklin Township Youth Soccer. 4-1 really does DC a diservice because they looked 7 goals better than the RBNY. Keep in mind no Angel, Jozy, serviceable MFs, and cones for center backs. Im shocked RBNY kept it that close. Ill wait to pass judgment on the RedBulls until their transfer acquisitions come in July, but by then it may be too late. Also, you have to believe that Bruce Arena has something to do with this teams poor start. He didnt exactly leave Osorio many player options when he left

I like it Andrew. I don't think the kid is getting yelled at in the car though. Olsen doesn't seem that unhappy with his son, in fact, I'm not 100 % sure he has emotions. He probably even thought "hey, that shirt may be a good financial investment for 20 years from now. If only I could get it autographed, but WHEN?!"

Doug. You just answered your own question: "What was there to talk about?" As you mentioned, stuff did happen, line-ups were changed, they played poorly. That is stuff to talk about.

Your one paragraph was better analysis than Andrew's recap of that Dick's commercial EVERY MLS fan has seen numerous times. Was this a supporters view of the half-time adds? Andrew, got any comments about the Bud Light commercials?

How sad is it that the Red Bull fans have nothing better than to make fun of a fictional advertisement?

Clyde Simms has a quality strike from distance. He did it against Chivas in Guadalajara last season in the CCL; he did it in the playoffs against Chicago last year; and he did it this weekend against RBNY. Every one of them was a laser to the bottom corner. He doesn't take a lot of shots, but when it does, it's got rocket boosters and a heat-seeker.

And his improved linking play has been instrumental in the rejuvinated DC attack. Just remember Clyde: positive passes = wins.

No need to write analysis of a team that will only get knocked out of the playoffs by the Fire come playoff time.

What Andrew did is what any Red Bull fan would do. That game was painful and we'd rather not relive it. This segment is called "A Supporter's View", after all.

And that was a jab at D.C. by the way and supporting the NY writeup

They cut the part of the commercial out where Ben "Gimpy" Olsen watches soccer on TV and weeps uncontrollably while drinking heavily and boxing Dawson's ears for buying the Beckham jersey. Ben then curses the end of his sorry career and we fade to black.

Wow, Andrew... way to shrug off complete and utter annhilation by writing an editorial on Ben Olsen's (lack of) acting skills.

And yes Joel, you sound like an asshole. But don't worry. That's how I talked to all my Pink Cows fan friends these past few days. I just can't help it, it's so funny to watch them blunder around the field.

Ha! Glad to hear it Kevin. It's a cape I've worn before and I'm proud to wear it again. As far as other people go, bring on the Fire and I may just do a write up about Bud Light commercials one day, if only to show solidarity for Andrew's right to want to talk about something, anything else because his team is so wholly, though expectedly, disappointing.

I think Andrew's article was great writing. I think people expect way too much analysis-wise; this is one supporter's view and he obviously didn't feel the need to just reiterate how much NYRB sucked during this game. And it can't be that personal as all his articles are written with the same sense of humor/satire.

Nice work Andruw.... not only is your article not at all about the game but you spelled Olsen wrong multiple times during the attempt at salvaging something from DC!
