Welcome to the Bundesliga Sal Zizzo

For those of you who missed it, U.S. Under-23 national team midfielder Sal Zizzo made his German Bundesliga debut today for Hannover 96 against Werder Bremen. He entered the match in the 70th minute with the score 2-0 in favor of Bremen.

Four goals later and Werder Bremen was cruising 6-0. Ouch.

Zizzo didn't really do much and, as far as I can tell, didn't get beat for any of the goals, but it has to still be a bit of a bittersweet day for the young winger.

Blowout or not, it's still good news to see a 21-year-old American player making his debut for a team in the top half of the Bundesliga.

Good day then to see him on the pitch finally.

AND Beasley was back from injury on the bench for Rangers today. That is great news for him, Rangers because of their Bataan death march like fixture schedule, and we U.S. fans for the upcoming qualifiers!

Bryan Arguez didn't make the pitch today, but he was good enough for the bench. Should be interesting to see how he develops as well.

Watched the last 10 minutes with my son. Zizzo was a non-factor as Ives states, had one foray deep with nothing to show for it. Dolo had quit any runs, since by then it was 5-0...but how cool is it to see an all american right side in the Bundesliga...go Zizzo...
