Just got back from playing my Sunday morning pickup game for the first time in weeks, so I caught the last 6 minutes of Inter-Parma. What a mudbog!
Missing the EPL already. What am I supposed to do with my weekends now?

Speaking of mudbogs, the Mallorca game is delayed because the field has fallen into the ocean. They are waiting for the rains to stop. Because of this, all other games at this time in Spain are also being delayed.

I pity anyone not watching Catana - Roma. A freaking incredible, emotional game.

Catana piles on chance after chance. Hits the crossbar twice and has a gaol disallowed.
And they still found the guts and courage to get the late equalizer to ensure survival. This was incredible stuff.

Fiorentina are through! Woohoo!!! Exellent bike by Osvaldo to win the match. Nice that such an important goal was scored in such splendid fashion. Osvaldo has been big for Fiorentina when he's gotten playing time (and makes you wish he had been playing all the minutes Vieri was getting - probably would have seen Fiorentina in the UEFA cup final rather than Rangers).

Mathieu Flamini will be playing in the UEFA Cup next year! Hahahahahaha!!!

What a fantastic finish to the Serie A season!!! That was one of the most exciting finals days in a long time. Ibrahimovic delivered in the clutch and Catania-Roma had tons of dramatics with Empoli putting pressure on Catania by winning its game.

Big props to Zlatan, I've definitely doubted his ability to produce in the clutch, but he came back like a champ from 6 weeks off for a great double off the bench to secure the championship.

Anyone think Edson Buddle deserves another look with the USMNT? Just scored a fantastic goal and looks like what Eddie Johnson ought to look like? Moves better off the ball too...

Galaxy are roling 3-0 over FCD through 33 minutes.

Well what do you know... Edson for a second... haha. He really looks sharp even though the second was a tap in... I know we all have faith in Jozy but Edson does not seem a bad choice... I am tired of Johnson and Ching paired with Landon.

4-0 Gals now, 39th. Wow.

Edson Buddle hat trick... I was just speculating earlier but now????
Posted by: Andy in Atlanta | May 18, 2008 at 04:49 PM
Buddle recieved a beautiful weighted pass from Becks for last goal, should be goal of the weak.

Alright, with Buddle and Gordon managing to finish enough to be effective, LA really needs to deal Ruiz for a good defender.
Come on, Ruiz for Conde, it's gotta happen, right?
Posted by: eric | May 18, 2008 at 04:58 PM
Nice hat trick for Buddle. That first goal shows exactly why he's such a frustrating talent. He'll score one of those a year, and you'll begin to wonder why he doesn't score more often and get nat'l team callups, and then he'll have five silent games in a row and you'll remember exactly why. Still, great run/dribbling on that first goal. I hope he can begin to start (and produce) regularly.

Josh - either that or he'll wrack up a DUI and get suspended for a few games.

On a random sad note, Real Madrid canceled their match with Real Salt Lake. Bummer

Atiba Harris and Edson Buddle both most likely in the team of the week? Nobody saw that coming.
I was partial to Buddle's first goal.
Also, Kenny Cooper showed on his assist why he isn't just some bruising target man. Good all around forward.

damn i thought that Galaxy game will be on later and completely missed it !!! bummer.

And after having watched a replay of the LAG-FCD highlights, I'm wondering what the Dallas defenders were doing on Buddle's first goal. Again, a nice run, but did three defenders simultaneously suffer heatstrokes? Too much standing around!
Posted by: Josh | May 18, 2008 at 08:19 PM
Seriously, FCD was atrocious. Hard to give the Galaxy a whole lot of credit when they get to play that FCD team.
