SBI MLS Best XI: Week 9

Cuauhtemoc_blanco_mls

After thrashing the New York Red Bulls 5-1, the Chicago Fire figured to have a few selections on this week's MLS Best XI. How many? Try a season-high four selections, with two more Fire players earning honorable mention.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco led the way after the MLS and SBI player of the week recorded a goal and three assists.

Chivas USA midfielder and Sueno MLS winner Jorge Flores also made the cut after his performance in Chivas USA's 2-1 win vs. Colorado. Flores scored in his second straight game to give the Goats their second straight win.

Here is the rest of this week's SBI MLS Best XI:

Add this weeks team of the Weak as RBNY....they need to wake up!

smorebs,

You shouldn't have to wait long with my team coming up this weekend. With Onstadt and DeRo on national duty and ERob getting red carded last night, our starters are looking thin.

Cuauhtemoc = League MVP?

Dichio!
Dichio!
Hes Danny Dichio!
Hes got not hair
and we dont care
Its Danny Dichio!

Prob the only time he will make this list, HA.

We do love him tho.

Just call it the Blanco's weekly XI

;O)

I'm pretty sure ives just deleted one of my comments... Don't silence the people Ives!!!

Jonathan, I deleted your comment because it had nothing to do with this post. It's something I do from time to time in order to prevent the focus of comments from being diverted. There was a post where you could put that comment and this wasn't it.

Hey Ives -
You sure that Blanco isn't calling this blog like Dominic Kinnear sees him reffing the games? After all, 4 in the Best XI & 6 total??

I have been a vocal critic of Guzan, but his performance with the Nats (and to a lesser extent with Chivas this week) was encouraging.

Also, I want to reregister my faith in Santino before he starts performing well in WC Qualifying for the nats.

: )

I thought Oduro would have made the XI but maybe because he was a sub it kept him only in the honorable mention?

I Definitely thought Oduro was in this week!

Maybe next week.

Fingers crossed!
