Judgement day looms in the EPL

Clint_dempsey_2_ap

The final day of the English Premier League season is just two days away and it is impossible to convey just how much will be on the line when the final 10 matches of the season kick off simultaneously.

Will Manchester United hold on for the title or will Chelsea catch them on the final day?

Will Everton keep its hold on a UEFA Cup berth or will Aston Villa close the gap?

Will Fulham pull off a late-season miracle for the second straight year?

Will Reading find a way to avoid the drop?

What do I see happening? I think Man U, Chelsea, Everton and Fulham all win while Reading falls short with a draw against Derby.

How do you see the final week of the EPL season playing out? Share your thoughts below.

Fulham certainly caught portsmouth at the right time, hopefully they can pull out a win. Does anyone know the actual kickoff times of the relegation games?

DONGZ DONGZ DONGZ

COME ON FULHAM COME ON FULHAM COME ON FULHAM!!!!! I think they just might pull it off against all odds!

I hope all of your predictions come true.

Patrick

all the games are at the same time

TV times may be adjusted, but they are all played at the trditional 10:00 AM (US Eastern) 3:00 PM (UK) time

much obliged zero

come on you Royals!

Fulham needs a relegation, maybe then they can shake things up and get good, instead of hanging around the fringe for the next five years.

Unfortunately I'm feeling pessimistic today. I am a Chelsea and Fulham supporter. As for the title, I think both the Blues and United get the three points. Therefore, Manchester wins the trophy. As for Fulham, I think they are more likely to get to where they need but I still get the feeling they will only draw with Pompey. Reading will surely beat Derby and avoid relegation

i see reading tying as they are incapable of scoring goals, and i see fulham tying as well to a portsmouth team thats trying to gain some momentum before the FA cup final. however, i still see birmingham losing, so nothing to worry about...

COYW.
For FFC fans out there, if you haven't see this check it: (Quality stuff)

Ives, I apologize if posting this link is inappropriate.

I think the odds are better that Reading wins, and Fulham draws.

Reading has the easier match, and they brought up an in-form Leroy Lita just in time. It may only be 1-0, but they'll do it.

Pompey, even if they are looking towards next weekend's FA Cup, will want to end on a high note, and they're a fairly deep team.

I'd rather see Fulham stay up...only because, if they do, it will probably have something to do with either Keller, Dempsey, or McBride making it happen!

I'll be at the Reading game in Derby, gonna be very nervy and I think we'll go down.

I think ManU will hold. Unfortunately, I think Fulham are going to drop back to the relegation zone. I think Reading will win and fulham will draw.

United wins the title after both they and Chelsea win.

Everton holds on to 5th after drawing against Newcastle.

Villa get Intertoto after beating West Ham.

Man City qualify for UEFA Cup through FIFA Fair Play (England was just awarded the automatic spot as they had the best coefficient).

Fulham, Reading, and Birmingham all play to draws, with Reading and Birmingham joining Derby County in the League Championship next season.

Unfortunately, I see it going the other way round. Reading has the good fortune to play Derby County on the weekend, who are complete rubbish. Really, the worst side in the history of the Prem. Utter dross.

So I think that Derby lose to Reading. I just don’t see Fulham sneaking by Pompey. I think Portsmouth will use this as a preparation for the FA Cup final. I certainly hope that I am wrong, but I don’t see Fulhamerica doing it this season. Testing fate too many times they are.

As for the title and UEFA cup spots, I think the title belongs to Manchester United and that Everton hangs on to go through to Europe.

no way Fulham beats Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Reading will tie at Derby, enough to have Fulham drop. I think Birmingham could spoil it for Reading and win at home against Blackburn.

Come on Fulham! Come on Fulham! Come on Fulham! Come on you whites!!!

I don't think this thing is set in stone. Pompey will show up to play, regardless of the lineup. Harry Redknapp is a top manager and he will keep his boys fighting. Fulham have been poor on the road except for their last 2 games, and they have to fight for this, if they want it. My lineup is as follows:

-------Mcbride-----Kamara-------
Dempsey--Bullard--Murphy--Davies--
Konchesky-Hangeland-Hughes-Stalteri-
------------Keller---------------

It should be a great match, can't wait

I'm a big supporter of Reading, but I cannot see how they stay up. Their game with Derby has 0-0 written all over it, and I think that Fulham will pull out at least a draw. And then the exodus from the Madjeski will begin, starting with the great Steve Coppell.

Reading dropping the ball at Derby? Please. Put Hunt and Doyle in and it'll be good.

I'd worry more about Fulham beating Portsmouth.

That said, goal difference really hurts Reading right now.... It's going to be close.

I'm a huge reading fan but the way they have played the last few weeks is horrible and they just don't look like they are going to make it. Derby is going to be primed to give their fans a big lift on the last day of the season and I see a loss or draw for reading. After the last 6 weeks, they deserve to lose. Bolton, Birmingham and Fulham have all risen to the occassion - not so for Reading. All their players, particularly Hunt have been dreadful. No service to the strikers who haven't scored in 3-4 months. I'll be very sorry to see them go down. They are a class organization and good for the EPL.

WOW. Imitation is flattering. Not sure who actually put the "DONGZ! DONGZ! DONGZ!" comment in my name but I thank you.
I guess I've become big enough for other posters or at least one not to like me.
Awesome.

What does all that mean anyway? "DONGZ!" ?

I was at the Fulham at Reading and at the time there was no reason to think Reading would be in this position. That match was probably the turning point for both clubs. The Fulham fans couldn't believe their club was dominating on the road.

From what I have seen I think Steven Coppell is an a**hole. Reading has a squad with plenty of quality to stay up but the manager feels it is his job to make a point throughout the season. If Reading goes down Coppell should never manage in the Premiership again. Reading is/was planning a major ground expansion this summer. Coppell may end up costing the club 100s of millions of dollars.

FULHAM!

Man U will win the title.
Everton will get UEFA cup spot.
As much as I want Fulham to stay up, Reading should beat Derby, and I don't see Fulham getting anything better than a draw at Portsmouth. It could be lights out for Team USA in the premiership.

IVES!!! I NEED SOCCERONTV!!!!!!

Fulham last 5 away, Blackburn 1-1, Newcastle 0-2, Derby 2-2, Reading 2-0, Man City 3-2. 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.

3 wins in a row on the road is tough even for Manuchelsearsenpool, but the strangest happen on the final day of the year.

COME ON YOU WHITES!!!

i unfortunately think that fulham is going to be hard pressed to pull this one out, though i'll certainly be rooting hard for them. also, how is it possible to be a fulham and chelsea supporter? that's about the same as being a red sox and yankees fan (considering their rivalry).

Reading 2, Derby 2
(benny feilhaber with the game tying goal in the 87th minute)

Pompey 1, Fulham 1

If Benny Feilhaber scores to keep the Whites up, I might start sobbing.

Tears of joy, or at least tears of irony.

Come on you Royals!!!

Are you going to do a top five games this weekend?

COME ON FULHAM, COME ON FULHAM!!!!!!!!!

1. I am very worried that we Fulham fans will be a suicidal bunch come 12.15 PM ET tomorrow. They broke our hearts all year until the last 4 weeks. When one squad has the weight of the world on their shoulders and the other has nothing to play for? A very dangerous combination. I am truly worried sick over this one.

2. Reading? Conveys a goner, he is on the outs with the club management, and they did not bother to offer Hanamman a new contract after the season he has had so to hell with them. Without him they would have 23 points – not 33.

3. Derby??? Benny- grow up and Eddie – please come home – we love you Eddie and San Jose would kill to have you back

I'll be posting up at Union Jacks in Indianapolis (Broad Ripple) 12 EST to watch Fulham if there are any other fans in the area...
COME ON FULHAM!

I think both Fulham and Reading will win tomorrow, with Fulham staying up on goal difference.

I also think the title will be decided on goal difference, with both Chelsea and Man U winning, and the title going to United.
