Colorado_rapids_logoChivas_usa_logo

The first-place Colorado Rapids (still not used to the sound of that huh?) take on Chivas USA today in a key Western Conference battle.

The Goats come in off crucial win vs. D.C. United while the Rapids look to move above .500 on the season with a win tonight.

Nice to see another goal by Jorge Flores. Hopefully he'll be a strong contributor on this next U20 team.

Miserable performance at home again by the Rapids. Gave up a goal in the 45th minute of the first half. No heart, no coaching.

I think Colorado saw the Goat's record and proceeded to underestimate them.

Chivas controlled the ball and maintained possession for long stretches.

Colorado looked dangerous once it scored and nevr gave up from that point on.

Chivas was able to do pretty much whatever they wanted, and executed on their plan without much resistance from CO. It looked to me like Chivas was the tougher and physically stronger squad, it was sort of tough to watch the Rapids get pushed around at home. Technically CO looked pretty poor. Kimura is an improving back, but he was manhandled last night. Omar Cummings must've been on the ground a dozen times. Guzan had a good night, but the Rapids couldn't manage any decent pressure until McManus's goal towards the end. Not an inspired performance by CO at home, which was unfortunate because there was a decent crowd in attendance.
