Borman's goal and roll

If you missed Danleigh Borman's clutch equalizer for the Red Bulls in last night's 1-1 tie with Kansas City, as well as his trademark cartwheel and roll (along with a hug from a drunken fan), here it is in all its glory:

Here's a replay with a better look at Danleigh's Goal Roll:

What did you think of the goal celebration? Is it growing on you? Still think it's terrible? Share your thoughts below.

As I wrote before... I don't care what his goal celebration looks like so long as he continues putting it in the net! Go Danliegh!

Yeah I kind of like it, silly but he's having fun and he's excited, who cares. I too will be excited everytime I see him do this because of what it follows

Can someone identify the drunken fan? =)

Don't pull that crap in Canada. That's not how the game is played. If the league wants to allow that crap, I'll just go back to England, where guys like Obafemi Martins know how to celebrate with cla... uh, well... never mind.

Damn, Hartman nearly got to that one as well. Hartman's gotta be a candidate for your team of the week, Ives. Made a number of clutch saves. Also Atiba Harris for dismantling DC.

Easy Team of the Weak winner - San Jose's James Riley - own goal of the year so far.

I know that it's getting close to the time when we can all say f--- it and hop the rails to celebrate with the team because who gives a damn about a Giants Stadium ban after we have moved to Harrison....

...but I would have picked a better game to go out on. A playoff win, maybe, or a crushing win over DC.

I like Borman and the redbulls are my favorite team, but how many chances do we need to find the net?
this was lucky, we must play better against the Fire or else we will get blown out.

Carver...don't forget Robbie Keane, a model of self control.

FOr those few remaining people who like to bring up Eddie Johnson when someone thinks positively about Josy Altidore's future...

That pass beginning that goal sequence is something that Eddie JOhnson would never, ever, be able to conceive of, let alone execute. Maybe once or twice a year you see a positive touch from Johnson in the final third (aside from taking a shot). Josy does that all the time. And it is one of the reasons why he is going to be great.

I don't understand what's wrong with the goal roll. That's a sweet celebration. His flips aren't quite to Robbie Keane's level yet, but with practice, he can get there.

One thing that impresses me is how JCO has this team playing for each other. There has been more teamwork and passion in the last three games than in several years. And I think that, while we're a much worse possession team without Reyna, we play much more as a team.

Of course, the Reyna pro/con debate is totally moot when he insults us all by cashing his paycheck despite the fact that he can't play. Talented player, old-time Metro-type disgrace .

I'm partial to chest thumping and belly flop slides, but Danleigh keep it up.

Celebrations are awesome.

I don't like the yellow card rule for removing your shirt, because sometimes you just score that special of goal at that special of a moment.

If there are people that like what TFC fans do, but dislike celebrations then you are retarded.

I love his roll. It's great. He said in an interview he can't do a flip so he does a roll. Good for him.

I like Borman's goal celebration. It's different than the usual "airplane" or "shine my boot" crap.

I think more guys should do the Blanco "dog peeing on the goal" celebration. That one is pure class.

Really, though, I was watching the tapes of the 74 - 78 WC, and Gerd Muller's celebrations were great. He just ran around like a wild man. It's like he never thought he was ever going to score a goal, and suddenly he didn't know what to do with himself, just hopping up and down and going crazy. Of course goal celebrations are now more formalized than they were then, so we actually have discussions like this, or wonder what it means when a player pops a pacifier in his mouth, etc...

Kaka is not allowed to go to the Olimpics. Lionel Messi will take the Goal.

I meand t GOLD**

I meant GOLD**

Personally, I'm a fan of the Peter Crouch robot

The best goal celebrations, my friend, were the Girogio shimmies when I played for the Cosmos. I would score one of my many goals...did you know that in all my years with the team I only failed to score in 4 home games...yes,4, you read that right my friend...I would rush over to the fans, look up to Steve Ross and give him a little shimmie to say "thanks." That sauid, my friend, I like this Borman kid..good instincts, good player. Jozy I'm concerned about. He looks like he's not having any fun. He needs to go out to to the discos with me, drink a chivas and meet some ladies. Then the Cosmos or the Red Bulls or whatever we are called now, will win the trophy.

Ciao!

Great Celebration! I was at the match and I am pretty sure I saw two fans on the field with one taking a nice spill on the wet ground. Can someone confirm that?
