Altidore has bruised right knee, says he's fine

Red Bulls officials have called Altidore's injury a bruised right knee and say he is day to day. Altidore discussed his knee on the ESPN live chat this afternoon, saying it is fine.

"My knee's all right," Altidore said via online chat. "It's day to day. Don't worry. I'm fine."

His status for Saturday night's match, and whether he can start, is still questionable. According to a source, Altidore was still feeling soreness in the knee and will be a game-time decision. If he cannot start then Colombian striker Oscar Echeverry will get the call.

Praise be to the Flying Spaghetti Monster, he's alright.

Thank the Lord!

Thank god, he was about to ruin my fantasy week...

Yes good fantasy week here it comes

anyone else hear about coupet to NYRB?

Seems to me that there are better places for RBNY to be spending money on other than a goalkeeper.

West Ham trials for 12 American prospects
tribalfootball.com - April 03, 2008

West Ham United have handed trials to 12 top American prospects as part of their link-up with United Soccer Leagues.

The USL provides the second and third division of professional football in the United States, as well as Under-23, Under-20, youth and women's leagues with clubs across the US, Canada and Caribbean.

Ryan Lehman, of Atlanta Fire United, told the USL website: "The biggest difference I have noticed between soccer in the US and soccer in England is the speed of play.

"The players also have a lot more discipline in their training. Where a few kids would tend to slack off back home, everyone here is focused on what they are doing and what the coach is saying."

"The trip has been great so far," added midfielder Lehman. "We are staying in a hotel that overlooks the stadium. Everything is just amazing. Heading over here, I knew it would be fun, a once-in-a-lifetime experience - but it has gone far above my expectations."

he better play tomorrow.

Anybody have a download of the ESPN chat? I'm not an insider and think it's a bunch of crap that I can't read the chat transcript on the site.
