There are some good ones here, well done guys.
The photo still infuriates me, Barcelona defender Marquez going down after an 18-year-old kid smoked him and almost touched his shoulder. What a wuss.

In all fairness to Marquez, he fell because Altidore clipped his ankle during the run. He put some mustard on it, for sure, but he did get clipped.

Thanks for this distinguished honor. I haven't been this proud since I got my Stamp Collecting badge in the scouts.

#5 makes me laugh every time!! Hopefully he makes defenders look like this on a consistent basis.
Posted by: IndyYankFan | February 13, 2008 at 11:36 AM
Yeah Dan's caption, which came in at No. 5 is at least No. 2 for me. But No. 1 was pretty darn good, too.

oh man #5 is hilarious.
but in the interest of full disclosure, I started to like the jerseys better as the game went on.

# 2 is clearly the best. a quote from Mr. Miyagi and Cobra Kai is fantastic

How about something along the lines of.
Mr.Marquez, you better get used to this because Barcelona has nothing on Real Madrid.

Josie: "The bells! The bells!"
(Or, to keep it soccer related, change it to 'balls')

Oops, I meant 'jozy'. Haha.

"I heard you head-butted one of our players. I just wanted to let you know where things stand between us. Now stay down."

I don't know if this is the right forum, but has anyone else noticed that Altidore plays better when there are more fans in the stadium? Some players wilt under the spotlight or get intimidated, but Altidore's performances actually improve in front of large crowds and in big games.
I first noticed this in the NY-LA game last season when he scored twice in front of a crowd of 60k+. I noticed it also in the U-20s WC and again in the Mexico game (with 70k+). No fluke.

Altidore thrives off the spotlight.
