NYCFC’s Watson-Siriboe to join NASL’s RailHawks on loan

Kwame Watson-Siriboe

By RYAN TOLMICH

Much like the five signings that preceded him, New York City FC’s Kwame Watson-Siriboe is set to go on loan ahead of the club’s first season.

The 28-year-old defender, who was acquired in a trade from Real Salt Lake on Aug. 11, will join the Carolina RailHawks on loan for the remainder of the 2014 NASL season.

“We are delighted to add a player with Kwame’s experience at this point of the season,” said RailHawks head coach Colin Clarke. “We want to thank New York City FC for making this deal happen, and we look forward to Kwame helping us reach our goals and win the championship.”

Prior to joining NYCFC, Watson-Siriboe made 19 appearances with Real Salt Lake throughout the 2012-13 season. However, the defender has yet to see the field since suffering a torn right anterior cruciate ligament in June 2013.

The RailHawks, who currently sit in sixth place in the NASL combined standings, resume NASL play Saturday when they take on the Tampa Bay Rowdies at WakeMed Soccer Park.

What do you think of Watson-Siriboe’s move to the RailHawks? How will the RailHawks fare the rest of the NASL season?

I just scrolled dude’s twitter, and I have to say…
What’s up with people doing the ice bucket challenge with no ice? How am I supposed to know it’s really cold? Lou Gehrig probably rolls a little in his grave every time he sees one of these non-iced challenges!
Let’s say there was a kicked in the balls challenge, would you accept people getting kicked with pants on? They could be wearing a cup or something!

Comin’ up next on the Violence Channel: An all new episode of “Ow, My Balls.”

    • Joamiq says:

It’s usually not even cold with the ice. People dump the ice in 2 seconds before dumping the bucket, which means the water is basically still at whatever temp it was before adding the ice.

Don’t know who this guy is but I know he sucks.

  4. He’s about an NASL level player. I suspect he’ll be a 4th choice CB for NYCFC.

  5. Slap and Dare says:

HOW DARE YOU KNOCK THE NASL!

IT IS THE TRUE DIVISION ONE IN THE USA!

IT IS BEING HELD BACK BY DON GARBER AND HIS EVIL MINIONS AT MLS HQ!

RELEGATION! PROMOTION! NO CAP! PROPER FOOTY CULTURE!

I hope I’m picking up the sarcasm..

      • Slap and Dare says:

        DO YOU DISAGREE?

HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE GLORY THAT IS THE MINESOTA THUNDER OR THE NY COSMOS?

THE COSMOS ARE A BIGGER BRAND THAT MLS.

THE COSMOS HAVE THE SAME SPONSOR AS REAL MADRID!

        WAKE UP, PEOPLE!

        THE SOCCER WAR IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Nemoudeis says:

The Thunder play in the NASL? That’s pretty good for a club that’s been defunct for five years.

  6. Good loan for Carolina. They need all the help they can get right now.
