PORTLAND– With the 2014 MLS All-Star Game upon us, it means the current season has passed the mid-way point, giving us all a chance to look back at the first half, and what lies ahead.

Episode 155 of The SBI Show takes a look at the players who enjoyed the best first half of the season, as we give our selections for MLS mid-season awards.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss MLS All-Star Week, and the upcoming match featuring Bayern Munich and the MLS All-Stars.

  1. Cylo says:

Disagree about whoever Porter called up that only has 3 games experience. I don’t care if the All-Star game is a preseason game. You don’t see that in any other American all star game. That a joke move by MLS and Porter

  2. Relegate US says:

Best intro music in the business.

  3. Clyde Frog says:

    “Most improved”…… maybe Chad Marshall?

  4. bryan says:

i agree with Ives, why have both MLS teams that far South of the city proper?! they’re currently alienating downtown, Burbank, Hollywood, etc. by being in only Carson. Not to mention the IE.

LAG can control LB, Palos Verdes, Torrance, and Orange County (Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Irvine, etc.) while the new LA team would draw LA proper, Burbank, Hollywood, Santa Monica, Bev Hills, Pasadena, Northridge, etc.

only the Inland Empire is really SOL because neither team would be that convenient to that area. conceivably, you could absolutely have a 3rd team for the IE. there are a ton of people in the cities east of LA.
