A full slate of World Cup warm-up games will air this weekend as many teams are days away from packing up and heading to Brazil.

For U.S. Men’s National Team fans, the weekend will include games featuring all four members of the “Group of Death”. Germany is the first to kick-off, playing Armenia at 2:45pm on Friday, shortly followed by Portugal vs. Mexico at Gillette Stadium. Saturday, the USMNT takes on Nigeria at 6pm and on Monday night Ghana will take on South Korea in Miami.

Among the other important games this weekend, World Cup host Brazil, perennial contenders Argentina and current champions Spain will all be in action.

MLS fans will also be excited to see big match ups in both conferences. In a battle of surprising play-off contenders D.C. 2. Del Griffin says:

Really was hoping Mexico would be able to pay us back for San Zusi by beating the hell out of Ronaldo in this match.

  3. elgringorico says:

    SO… Close… Surreal

  4. Jay Boca says:

Mexico games are on national TV more often than MLS games are.

    • QuakerOtis says:

Mexico has a better following right now. And LigaMX is still a little better too, but would like to see top MLS teams get consistent air time. Maybe NYCFC will get the ball rolling on that one.

    • cabrito says:

ESPN spends more time covering “El-Tri” than our own national team. What a joke.

      • Andy says:

I must have missed “El Tri: Camino de Brazil”

My Spanish is bad, so forgive me if that isn’t correct.

Anyway. ESPN is a business. They want to make money. I really like being able to watch Mexico/Liga MX in English.

    • Quit whining about soccer in the US says:

What is shocking about this isn’t the fact itself, it is how long ESPN realized what a draw the Mexican Nat team is.

Ditto with Liga MX, which is on spanish speaking TV, but still isn’t on English speaking TV.

      We are very lucky.

    • cpldaniel says:

Yep. Once again it is impossible to find MLS on NBC for a casual fan just looking for some soccer to throw on the TV.

  5. Kyle Beckerman says:

Are you there Jah? It’s me Ras Trent.

  6. @MLS_Biblical says:

    • Del Griffin says:

      Option one: pass
Option two: fall over in box and wave arms
Option three: dribble right at goal keeper and shoot three inches from him.

  7. malkin says:

And I just drew Brazil in my office pool! I will gladly take the 20% runner up payout instead of 70% winner payment going to United States.
