Since being acquired on loan less than a month ago, Fanendo Adi has quickly proven the goal scorer the Portland Timbers were looking for.

The Nigerian forward scored his third and fourth goals of the season on Saturday night as the Timbers defeated Real Salt Lake for the first time ever at Rio Tinto Stadium. Adi’s performance made him a strong choice for SBI MLS Player of the Week honors.

Adi beat out Luis Robles, Conor Casey, and Obafemi Martins for this week’s honors.

    8 SOG

    Bonkers.

The knock against Adi was that his best game came against Chivas. After watching him go toe to toe with Schuler for that corner kick, it’s safe to say the hype is real.

  3. Hov says:

MLS should require all players of his caliber start the process to US citizenship…
