MANAUS, Brazil — The U.S. Men’s National Team will be looking to repeat history on Sunday by beating Portugal in a World Cup match for the second time in 12 years. This time around though, a win against the Portuguese would automatically send the Americans through to the Round of 16.

Episode 149 of The SBI Show previews the pivotal Group G showdown between a confident American team and an injury-hit and vulnerable Portugal side that also happens to boast the reigning World Player of the Year in Cristiano Ronaldo.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly discuss lineup options for Jurgen Klinsmann, keys to success for the U.S., as well as the impressive form of CONCACAF teams at this World Cup.

  2. bryan says:

lol well at least neither of you were right regarding Ghana/Germany. Ives did say Ghana would score 2 goals though!

  3. Tom_in_So_IL says:

Kaka being a Christian will help in Tebow land too.

    • Eric Johnson says:

Hard to call south beach tebow land. Slight difference between Miami and Gainesville. ;)

      • Autolycus says:

Orlando, OTOH, is very close to Gainesville and is much more like Tebow-land than Miami. I don’t, however, think it makes a darn bit of difference to fans of a soccer team though.

    Thanks for the show, guys…

I finally had time to listen to the last show this evening.

I’m pretty sure it’s me, who hounded them about the 30 man provisional roster contest prize, the USMNT scarf. To be clear, I never was positive it was me who won. My comments about my neck being cold, or the one where I mentioned that the scarf should be signed by Ives to the all knowing, all powerful AMPhibian, were simply goofs, and shouldn’t be inferred as brash bravadoisms.

If Ives, you say that I didn’t win, I think that’s perfectly okay, that’s fine, I’ll see you in court, but we’re cool. ;)
