The 2014 MLS season is off to a surprising start, with some expected powerhouses stumbling out of the gate, and some surprise teams emerging to enjoy good beginnings to new eras.

In Episode 125 of The SBI, we discuss MLS Week Three, which featured the latest strong showings for the unbeaten Columbus Crew and FC Dallas, who are a combined 5-0-1 to start the new season.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also discuss Americans Abroad, including the impressive recent performances of Geoff Cameron and Fabian Johnson.

  1. soccerroo says:

love the game for each ball comment. It took Garrett a sec before he caught it but had me laughing.

  2. Charles Polanski says:

I’ll be in Phoenix but won’t arrive until afternoon of April 2nd. Tell us where the after party is!

  3. Dace says:

“One game for each ball” – awesome

Won’t be able to make Phoenix, but come to Dallas/Ft. Worth and we’ll get you all the cosmos you two can handle, provided Garrett gets a fake ID before then.

Great show guys, can’t wait for the next one!

  4. MisterJC says:

    Great show, people…

  5. Birgit Calhoun says:

    Good comments this time.

  6. James says:

Nice show fellas. One suggestion – It’d be nice to have the transitions labeled, i.e. between MLS, Americans Abroad, etc. I don’t usually have time to listen to the whole show in one sitting, so it’d be nice to be able to go to a specific section I’m interested in, or as a marker for when I come back to it.

totally agree. I dont have the time to listen to the whole thing usually either and find myself searching randomly throughout before giving up. It doesnt even need to be linked. but times for each topic would be a HUGE improvement on these posts

  7. Troy in his apartment says:

I call BS on your comment about Dempsey being suspended if he was someone else. Remember what Keane did to Hurtado last year. Wasnt on the field of play, out of bounds and total knee/kick to his balls from behind. No suspension. So dont say the league doesnt have a double standard
