Thierry Henry’s decision to use the full Major League Soccer offseason has allowed him to take part in plenty of other ventures, including starring his shoe sponsor Puma’s latest ad.

Sitting in a “top-secret location” Henry and a woman named Olivia watch clips of Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus testing out the new Puma EvoPower cleats and in the process, destroying everything in their path.

Promoting the shoe’s “power” and “accuracy,” Fabregas and Reus manage to obliterate their targets as well as causing fake mass damage to the Camp Nou and an indoor facility. Henry’s only reaction to seeing the Camp Nou scoreboard fall over is “The power, it’s unbelievable.”

If Henry wears these shoes during the upcoming season, the New York Red Bulls might want to take out another insurance policy on Red Bull Arena.

    Kind of embarrassing.

For Henry, Fabregas, or Reus? How so?

Agreed. This is classic proof that no matter how much you spend on special effects, your movie/tvshow/musicvideo/commercial can still suck if you don’t have any kind of story. This spot needed a writer, and instead they just hired more cg animators. Weak.
