Several Americans abroad will look to keep their momentum going from good showings in midweek games in a busy week across Europe.

Tim Howard helped Everton to a rare win over his former club at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The Old Toffees topped their former boss, David Moyes, and Manchester United 1-0. Next up: top-of-the-table Arsenal.

Jozy Altidore finally scored his first league goal for Sunderland in a 4-3 loss to Chelsea on Wednesday, but he’ll have his hands full once more in the Black Cats’ next match at home against Tottenham.

Alejandro Bedoya also scored on Tuesday as Nantes defeated Valenciennes on Tuesday. Bedoya will be back at it on Friday against Marseille. Reading midfielder Danny Williams had an assist on Wednesday and is starting to earn minutes for Reading since recovering from injury. Reading will face AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Bedoya scored today again. Similar goal as Tuesday, good position took a shot which deflected off a defender and into the net. I think they still credited him with the goal. He also chased a long pass into the corner that a defender had given up on, jumped to get a touch and keep it in play, then ran the ball to the endline and won a corner. This guy has got to be a fan favorite at this point, especially with Nantes near the top of the table.

Bedoya wants a seat on that plane

    • USMNT Fan says:

That’s guaranteed. He wants to be in the starting IX… definitely ahead of Zusi based on current form and weekly competition.

  3. John O'Brien says:

When was the last time Jonathan Bornstein actually played a game?

  4. Chad says:

Correction: Geoff Cameron & Stoke play Chelsea…though Shea got a few mins recently.

    • D says:

Shea needs some burn. Get that guy in form before the cup, and we are in good shape.

      • Drewbles says:

If we’re relying on Brek Shea to be the difference between being in good shape and bad shape, we are in bad shape.

  5. usaalltheway says:

Come on Jozy!! Get that second goal. Shut up the haters and prove to everyone what so many of us already know; you are a quality player and deserve more respect.

Oh yeah…did you guys hear about that World Cup draw? bummer….
