Soccer Friday: Your Running Commentary

As many with siblings around the world know, it’s not easy being the little brother. Especially when the big brother is FC Barcelona.

Espanyol travels on Friday across town to face their big-spending and all-encompassing rivals, who draw more attention to their youth team than the Espanyol first team most weeks of the year. Espanyol are currently eighth in La Liga but are still more than twice as many points behind the league leaders in Barcelona.

Elsewhere in Europe, Borussia Dortmund face Stuttgart in a battle of top-ten German powers and Paris Saint-Germain host struggling Lorient, with Laurent Blanc’s side looking to grab sole possession of first place in Ligue 1 for at least one night. In the evening, two quality Liga MX games take place with Club America visiting Queretaro and Club Tijuana hosting Atlante.
