In just their fourth signing, Indy Eleven are bringing in an international veteran to serve as anchor for their as-yet-undetermined back line.

The new Indiana-based NASL club has signed Honduran defender Erick Norales, who is coming off of recent club stints in Honduras and China. He represented the Honduran national team for 30 caps, including during 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

“Our international player signings are limited, and we have to make sure we get these decisions right,” said Indy Eleven President Peter Wilt Tuesday in a statement announcing the signing. “With Erick’s tremendous ability and his commitment to build Indy Eleven into a championship-caliber club, we know we made a valuable addition by bringing him on board.”

Offically, Norales becomes the fourth player on the Indy Eleven roster, joining fellow defender Baba Omosegbon and goalkeepers Kristian Nicht and Nathan Sprenkel.

Indy Eleven were founded earlier this year and will enter their first preseason in February 2014.
