With their chances of making the 2012 Major League Soccer playoffs in the balance, the Vancouver Whitecaps displayed the best performance of their season on the road at their Cascadia rival’s stadium.

Thanks to a hat-trick from 18-year-old forward Kekuta Manneh and a second-half goal from Nigel Reo-Coker, the Whitecaps last Wednesday pummeled the Seattle Sounders, 4-1, at CenturyLink Field. The impressive victory made the Whitecaps our choice for SBI MLS Team of the Week.

The Whitecaps beat out the New England Revolution, Chicago Fire, and Portland Timbers for this week’s honor.

What did you think of the Whitecaps’ performance? Which team stood out to you in MLS Week 34?

And that result set them up to win the Cascadia Cup, as well, right?
