If he needed a signature game to boost his chances of winning MLS Rookie of the Year, Colorado striker Deshorn Brown delivered it on Saturday.
The Jamaican-born striker notched a pair of goals, including the second-fastest goal in MLS history, to help lead the Rapids in a 5-1 thrashing of the Seattle Sounders. The performance made Brown the easy choice for SBI MLS Rookie of the Week.
Brown locked up this week honors after scoring twice, including an impressive tally that saw him beat fellow Rookie of the Year candidate DeAndre Yedlin in the process.
Brown beat out teammate Dillon Powers and LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes for this week’s honors.
What did you think of Brown’s performance? See him bring front-runner for Rookie of the Year?
