The New York Red Bulls’ thrashing of the Montreal Impact included several top-notch performances, including three that were good enough to earn spots on this week’s SBI MLS Best XI.

Thierry Henry was the maestro of the attack in New York’s 4-0 humbling of the Impact, while Eric Alexander provided the midfield threat and Brandon Barklage helped shut down the Impact’s normally-dangerous attack.

The Portland Timbers tandem of Donovan Ricketts and Andrew Jean-Baptiste were vital in helping keep the Los Angeles Galaxy attack in check in their 2-1 victory, with Jean-Baptiste providing the game-winning goal.

The surprise pick of the bunch has to be Soony Saad, who turned in a career performance in scoring two goals and being an overall terror against Toronto FC in Sporting Kansas City’s 3-0 thrashing of TFC.

Here are this week’s picks for the SBI MLS Best XI:

I’ve never been firat to post – nice!!!

  2. Joe says:

Ray Gaddis had a SBI MLD Best XI game vs Chivas in a rain soaked game that i feel deserves mentioning. Good bounce back game after a string of rough ones.

  3. Paul Atkinson says:

Chara had a decent, but not stellar game against LA. Several bad passes turned into easy giveaways, which is not at all his usual style. I’m surprised to see his name on the bench. If another Timbers player deserved a spot I’d have put Nagbe in, as his game seems to be improving week by week and Saturday was no exception.
