After missing two months of soccer due to a lingering hamstring injury, Vancouver Whitecaps forward Kenny Miller hasn’t needed much time to find his scoring touch.

In just his third game since his return from injury, the 33-year-old scored a brace including the game-tying goal and eventual game-winner on Saturday to help lead the Whitecaps to a 4-3 victory over the New England Revolution, earning him SBI MLS Player of the Week honors.

Miller beat out the Columbus Crew’s Dominic Oduro, Portland Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts, and Robert Earnshaw of Toronto FC for this week’s honors.

What did you think of Miller’s performance? Who else stood out to you in MLS Week 16?

  1. Scott e Dio93 says:

Boyd is better scot than Miller.

  2. Artie says:

Don’t forget his crucial dive to change the momentum of the match and get Farrell sent off–that was the biggest play he made Saturday.

    • Bobb says:

I like the Revs but come on, that wasn’t a dive. Farrell’s feet got tangled up with Miller’s, and Miller had him beat and was in on goal. That’s a red card and penalty kick EVERY TIME.

  3. Zack says:

MLS should fine and suspend Miller for his flop on against the Revs. If I wanted to watch simulation, I’d watch the WWE.

The MLS referee situation is getting perilously silly.

  4. Juan says:

Player of the week for hitting the turf? Wow

  5. Paul says:

clearly his legs were clipped. its a red card all day long.

  6. Wagner says:

Red card and penalty any day – who knew New England had so fans or Kenny Miller so many haters.
    Miler deserves PoW

  7. Jon says:

Slow motion video on the Revolution Big Soccer website shows that there was no leg being tangled up or clipped. It was a brilliant dive. The ref was foxed. At the very least the red card suspension should be lifted.

  8. SanFran415 says:

I don’t get it. How are people seeing a leg tangle? He kicked himself and pretended he got hit. It was a suspension worthy dive.
