No one had a better week than the Seattle Sounders.

Sigi Schmid’s squad finally seem to be playing at their expected level, going on the road and defeating Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday, 1-0, and then recording a dominant home 4-0 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday. The two wins in four days earned the Sounders SBI MLS Team of the Week honors.

Honorable mention for this week goes to the New York Red Bulls, Portland Timbers, and FC Dallas.

What did you make of the Sounders performances this week? What team impressed you the most in MLS Week 11?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but its going to be hard to drop Neagle. He’s playing like a madman. Sure, Oba and EJ are the two top forwards, but how do you bench a guy who has been red hot? He could play wing, but do you drop Evans or Rosales? That’s not even mentioning Zak.

Sigi’s got some good problems on his hands.

You don’t drop him, you rotate the three. You have to reward players who are playing well and he has been their most effective player in a couple games this year. Having squad rotation is a good thing, EJ has played 90 minutes in each of the last three games. Martins probably isn’t ready to play game in and game out. Also out wide is an option, I would drop Servando and move Evans into the middle personally if you want to go that route.

      • Macattaq says:

Exactly. Rotation is a good thing, because it means players get a rest. But rotation also means that players keep pushing in training and on the pitch, so that they can remain or get into the first team. This kind of competition helps make the team better, providing for more consistency and success throughout the season.

EJ is a risk he’s playing more and more emotional and it’s going to catch up at some point. Having a solid back up is needed.

Zak has only proven to be a choker..
