The Houston Dynamo need at least a draw tonight when they take on CD Olimpia (8pm, Fox Soccer Channel). Real Salt Lake is also in control of their own destiny. They can secure their quarterfinal place with a 1-0 victory or multi-goal victory against Herediano at Rio Tinto Stadium (10pm, Fox Soccer Channel).

  1. Liga says:

It’s not a CONCACAF match without an MLS team having either a coach or player or several of both ejected. Now we need Houston to give up several bogus penalties and we’ll be set.

  2. blag says:

Just a regular old “stellar” performance from another concacaf referee.

  3. Liga says:

This is another major problem with North American soccer. You need strong interleague play to build and benchmark domestic clubs. But it’s as certain as life and death that an MLS team playing in a CONCACAF tournament will get a raw deal by the officials, but more egregious the officials allow the matches to turn into a game of rugby.

  4. Iggy says:

Congrats to Houston for getting it done.

This RSL game is crazy, still 0-0 but lots of RSL chances and very fast game. Good viewing so far

  5. Tony in Quakeland says:

Well. Dynamo did get the benefit of the late red (deserved, too) so the ref wasn’t that bad…

  6. g-dub says:

77th and RSL showing no real sign of finding a way to break down Herediano. Need to find some creativity.

  7. john says:

rsl is just wasting a lot of possession trying to pound it down the middle. Really haven’t gone down the wings too much

  8. Tony in Quakeland says:

The RSl game is one of the worst combinations of bad reffing and cyncial play I have ever seen. Awful.

  9. RSLfan says:

I think that makes it official. If Alvaro Saborio is out, RSL can’t score.

  10. g-dub says:

Would have loved to see Rimando put that in for the win, but no dice. RSL couldn’t get it done at home.

  11. Francois says:

Bad move taking out Gil for Steele. Steele killed all the attacks from that right hand side.

  12. Iggy says:

Time wasting at the end was nuts…defender comes to take free kick for his ‘injured” GK (who 2 mins earlier himself picked up a yellow for time wasting). Defender takes his sweet time, picks up a yellow. After getting carded says screw it, and He then decides to leave the free kick for the injured GK to take. Just comical.

Hard luck for RSL, but they should have found a way to pound one in. really not many shots on goal in the second half, despite loads of possession in final third.

  13. Raul says:

Most exciting 0-0 game I have seen in awhile…Heredianio deserves to advance
