Yep, Guzan’s been a stud this season, but he’s been one of the only bright spots thus far in a dismal start to the season for Villa. The fans are really high on him, but the same can’t be said for Lichaj, who has an uphill battle in front of him to win back a starting spot from Joe Bennett, who has hardly been stellar himself. As much as I would love to see the kid come good, I don’t think anyone need distract themselves at the moment with notions of national team call ups.

  2. Andy says:

So happy at Guzan’s season thus far. He’s great cover for Howard, and he’ll be a good intercessor for out next big generation of keepers to develop without a lot of pressure on their shoulders.

  3. Bobb says:

Guzan was one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League even last year. In fact, all three Americans were pretty much top 10-12 or so, out of the thirty who had significant minutes, and all were above every keeper from the Isles besides Joe Hart. Something certain Premier League teams should think about when looking for their next GK.
