I just said this in the other spot but how does Cameron get beat like that? Brutal
I’m a fan and we have few options, but if Gooch gets beat like that all the posts here are crucifying him.

The ‘grown ass man’ finally played like it. Wow that was crucial.

    • Mat says:

Well people hate to hate Gooch. Exactly as you said. Cameron gets a free pass.

    • Hogatroge says:

I’m a big Cameron fan too, but boy was that ugly. What’s worse is that whole goal was a severe breakdown by all 3 of our CBs!

To be fair, Cameron and Bocanegra should have been partnered in the center w/ Parkhurst out left. Parkhurst doesn’t cough up the ball like Boca did going forward, and Bocanegra doesn’t get taken down so easily like Goodson did.

Still, after his other recent performances, I’d say it’s definitely too soon to write off Cameron. Seems to me like he played some pretty tight D from the CB position in Mexico and twice against Jamaica over the last two months.

Nice foul on the Antigua goal..

    • HoboMike says:

Goodson needs to be a bit stronger than that.

    • KP1935 says:

Exactly! Blackstock was pulling on Goodson starting at the penalty spot, he was on the ground by the 6 yrd box. Then again, if Boca clears it and doesn’t lose possession, they don’t have the opportunity. It looks like he was about to knock it clear but took an extra step and lost the ball.

      • divers suck says:

You’re right KP. I didn’t notice it watching the game but Goodson does, in fact, get grabbed on the shoulder and fouled (even though he shouldn’t have fell down on it). That still is no excuse for the pathetic giveaway by Boca and Cameron getting schooled and smoke checked down the wing….Awful on the entire sequence!!

  3. BK says:

EJ’s nice finishing aside, MB probably our best player on the night. Rough game.

    • Vic says:

Bradley had some good shots on goal, good tackling and hustle like always. However, he also had alot of short passes that put his teammates in danger or long passes that led to nothing.l

    • Michael Stypulkoski says:

MB was definitely our best player over ninety minutes. EJ deserves all the plaudits he’s getting today, but he did disappear for stretches of the game. MB (and maybe Dolo) were our only guys who were consistently solid the entire game.

Eddie Johnson….Bradley (oh my goodness)…..Zusi…… carried this team. Gordan and Kjestan we need on the team. Was far as Dempsey the best player is not always best for the team IMO(I don’t think A&B even knew be played for Tottenham but the way be played), its like EJ plays for Tottenham and be plays for seattle!!!! Bradley…..I don’t know how many times I bad mouthed this guy when be played for this dad…..the man is pure class with an uncontested work ethic.
We need more dynamic MLS players on the team and it’ll be very interesting with a goal hungry Eddie and a “something to prove” Altidore up too for the US

Guys, We don’t have to worry about making the hex. Even if we lose to Guatemala, Jamaica has to win by over three goals Against Antiqua. That’s not going to happen. So what we need to worry about is our player pool during the hex.

    • louis z says:

not true, we are up +3 if we lose by the minimun we are +2 If Jamaica wins 3-0 they are in and we are out, they don’t need 4 or more goals. each goal that we lose by is one goal less that Jamaica needs to pass us.

  6. Steve-o says:

One more thing. The top three teams in the hex will make the World Cup but this year the fourth place team will have to play the winner of Oceana which is probably New Zealand. And if we are fourth-place we can beat New Zealand So it’s very likely that concacaf will have four teams in the World Cup.

    • Hogatroge says:

I don’t know… if we’re end up 4th place in the hex (over 10 games), beating NZ–a decent team–is NOT a sure bet.
