Arch-rivals Manchester United and Liverpool will renew acquaintances on Sunday morning at Anfield in what should be as emotional and intense as usual.

Liverpool is still searching for a first win of the season, and will look to ride the momentum of an inspired home crowd to take down a United side that has gotten off to a solid start to the new campaign.

The Premier League will boast two top-notch clashes this weekend, with Arsenal taking on Manchester City. The Gunner have gotten off to a strong star and will be looking to keep City from earning full points from the second straight match.

A tasty tilt in the Bundesliga will feature mighty Bayern Munich paying a visit to Schalke to take on Jermaine Jones and the Gelsenkirchen outfit.

Let’s take away handshakes from the pregame hoopla. After Terry/Ferdinand and Evra/Suarez, it’s just an unnecessary distraction from what is really important.

  2. Ezra says:

There’s no Liga MX on TV this weekend?

  3. BCC says:

How about we take racism out of the game and keep the handshakes.

  4. abc says:

Seriously. How are a few dbags in the Premier League reason to eliminate pregame handshakes, which have happened all over the world for many years? Just bizarre thought process… probably a Liverpool fan.

  5. David JS says:

handshakes are a recent trend in european football. they aren’t mandatory in most leagues. they have zero meaning so why have them? it’s not like they’re a longstanding tradition in england, and it’s not anything more than token pregame formality. if it meant something, like postgame handshakes in hockey, then fine. you don’t need to have required handshaking to prove the mutual respect between competitors. it’s just phony.

Toluca – Atlante on Univision on Sunday at 1:00 PM Eastern time
