You know Chelsea’s defense sucks when Freddy Montero shredded through them. Not a surprise Falcao did it.

  2. Aguinaga says:

It’s almost like the next generation, turbo charged Juan Pablo Angel! Except he’s even better. Was hoping Barca made a play for him in the offseason even though he just signed last year (he’ll be at one of the big 5 trendy spenders soon enough despite only transferring a year ago).

  3. NE REVS says:

I hear Pac Man in the background.

  4. Evan W says:

To me its not a surprise that Montero tore through an EPL defense. Montero is clearly more skilled than most EPL players.

Chelsea by the way is in first place with 3 wins in 3 games having only allowed 2 goals in those games.

  5. Eric Sornoso says:

Some people rise to the occasion and deliver under pressure.

    Impressive display by Falcao.

  6. gas huffer says:

I hate Chelsea as much as the next guy, but be fair: the result was 4-1. Gary Cahill scored a consolation goal somewhere in there…

  7. Curmudgeon says:

Not taking anything away from him, but I’ve seen a lot more impressive hat tricks than this . . . especially when the defending is so pathetic.

  8. Scott says:

Luiz pulled a John Terry! Diving and sliding into the goal after the ball goes in.

  9. Hincha Tim says:

That’s because you’re not sophisticated enough to appreciate the subtle things that he did in order to score, the perfect touches, the perfect timing of his runs and shots. These are things that very few American soccer players (actually very few soccer players in the world) develop.

  10. He is the most accurate striker in the world
look for colombia to win the next world cup
he’s way better than messi and ronaldo

  11. PJC says:

Reminds me of Messi goals. Quick, skilled, lethal.

  12. PJC says:

These look easy because he’s just THAT good. They are not easy at all. Very impressive hat trick.

  13. einar says:

    VIVA COLOMBIA!

  14. B 16 says:

Chelsea’s defense was giving him wayyyy too much space.

  15. CrispyST3 says:

What if he was giving himself that space? LOL
I mean what if Chelsea tried their best but he was just soo good that he found that space quite easily

  16. Ben says:

    Cap him, Bob!

  17. Rick says:

Haters are going to hate, but you can’t argue with these numbers.

43 goals in 52 appearances for with Atletico Madrid. 6 Goals in last 2 matches.

  18. Robert Daniels says:

When was the last time that the Champion’s League winner was dismantled like that vs the Europa Cup winner?

  19. Curmudgeon says:

Who said anything about Americans? Look, they’re nice goals. But I think it’s a stretch to say it’s “difficult to put into words how impressive” the hat trick was. It was a delicate chip to the far post; a nice curling shot across Cech’s body; and a hard driven low third. This was NOT Nelinho’s curler in the ’78 World Cup; Roberto Carlos at the Stade de France in ’97; or Van Basten’s winner in the 1988 Euro championship. Those goals are difficult to put into words. If you don’t see the difference, we’ll agree to disagree.
