One of the top 5 greatest goals I’ve ever seen. Period. That’s just insane.

On a side note, why is NYRB attendance down so much this year? Awesome stadium and great team?
Good attendance last year considering how mediocre the team was (especially for the middle part of the season), then management increased season ticket prices for a team that has never won anything with guys like Backe who were perceived as being incompetent (dude who did that just got fired btw), coupled with other stuff led to people not renewing.
With how good the team has been this year, Backe seeming less bafoonish, and that guy getting fired, should be close to Galaxy attendance next year.
NYRB attendance still at 18,000 plus and was 17,134 tonight.
Nice goal, but Beckham has already bent in two from the corner this season.
And if context factors in, Julian De Guzman has already knocked Henry off the Goal of the Week pedestal.
Stop with the attendance bashing, 17 and change isnt all that bad and i just got back from the game and the place was electric. Give me 17 plus any day with that atmosphere ,COYRB!!

i only recall one of beckham’s and it squeaked in the near-post. Somehow the far-post angle seemed much harder to pull off. I actually can’t recall ever seeing a far-post corner goal like this one.

Also, maybe the reason the “in-person” attendance was low was the Yankees? There are a lot of no-shows for season tix seats. My section is sold out, but only about 75% of the seats were filled last night. It was a beautiful night, so it sure wasn’t the weather.
I agree- I think Beckham has only done it once this year (against Metapan). However, I would think that the far post goal would be easier than the near post, as the kick would need less bend on it, the far post being eight yards further from the kick and would be behind the keeper. That being said, Henry’s was still the more impressive of the two olimpicos.

CORRECT SIR, inspite of the dunces upstairs it’s still an event to attend a match at RBA. From the Ironbound resaurants and supporter’s pubs to the march across the Jackson Street bridge it’s a great time.
