New York is getting another big summer game, and this one will have a bit of South American flavor to it.

Conmebol World Cup qualifying leaders Chile and Ecuador are set to square off in an international friendly on August 15 at Citi Field in Flushing, SUM announced on Tuesday. The match falls on a FIFA fixture date, so top players like Chile's Alexis Sanchez and Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia can be called in.

The friendly between the two South American countries is the latest match scheduled to be played in New York this summer. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain will do battle on July 22 and Real Madrid will face AC Milan on August 8. Both those high-profile exhibitions will be played at Yankee Stadium.

TBH I could seriously care less. I would only imagine that people living in New York might care, even then, interest is probably limited.

It’s great to see more south American teams coming here to compete during the world cup qualifying phase. Even though, the two teams have a difference in quality, it should be a great game.

During the wc qualifying, there’s really are no friendlies, everyone wants to get better. I’ll go and see it.
